Track description | Creative process
Peach, Mario's true love, has been abducted. After the initial adrenaline rush of the rescue mission begins to wear off, and our hero finds himself in a dark and dingy dungeon world, the utterly sad reality of his situation begins to reveal itself.
Heart sick and lonely, Mario abandons his intrepid sense of adventure to be in his feels for a while.
I decided to go a bit sad and sonically broad with this one, ideally still maintaining a bit of the 8bit style.

I liked the way you mixed in the guitar part, it was a pleasant surprise. Although 100% sure on the lead synth sound, I enjoyed this alot.
Fun track with its own sound choices, sometimes unexpected but well executed like the guitar, maybe it doesn't fit perfectly the theme, but it was a good listen, well done!
Has a very nostalgic feeling to it, interesting track ! That guitar did suprised me, but in a good way ! Good job !
That guitar is so cool. Groovy bass. The chirping-like SFX is a little distracting, but its just a minor nitpick. A vibe! Nice work!
Really fun track, I liked it a lot. Compositionally sound and it's orchestration is consistent and pretty darn arresting. The 8 bit parts maintain the identity, though a bit lost at times. I could see this in a more modern installment of Mario though so I think it fits pretty good. Mario soundtracks are generally more jazzy and syncopated but the rhythms you chose kept that upbeat feeling that the series' music treats as a must, so it was nice to see a breakaway from those conventions that stuck the landing.
I think you took a very creative approach with the sound, though i feel like you didnt entirely stay closer to that more 8 bit style besides the lead and those backing pads (only mentioning this because you mentioned you were going more for that style). I vibe with the song overall but I think i dont entirely get the same interpretation as what you intended here, it feels like the main key in that feels more sad is the fact it is in a minor key, but the instrumentation choices outside of the guitar kind of make it seem a bit more positive in my eyes. Thats purely subjective but i just wanted to share my interpretation. Overall nice tho!
Cool take, did not expect the electric guitar, nice touch. Sounds good too.
