Duly impressed that this was made in one week. Loved the dialogue. It would be neat if there was another dimension to the game that involved combat in some way. Otherwise, great job!
Thanks so much for playing! I also appreciate the feedback. For my future games, I am hoping to touch open different areas that I am not familiar with.
Hit me up on the group discord @aayostan. Would love to collaborate with you on a project.
I wasn’t expecting to be hit in the feels by a pixelized man talking about peaches :’)
Hehe ^^ Thanks so much for playing!
Interesting story and beautiful art.
Looks and feels great and very nostalgic! I was obviously expecting someone to give me a sword, but it turned out this game here has more story then Tolkien could dream of! The genre is a matter of taste, but the biggest improvements could be made in the music and SFX. The games of those time were representatives of simple, but great music, thinking of Zelda or Pokemon. Maybe worth hiring an composer for the next jam.
Either way, this was really nice, thank you!
Thank you for playing!! I love the older Pokémon games and was aiming for a similar aesthetic. My main focus for this project was to provide a cozy slice-of-life experience. I am hoping to expand to more genres in the future. Thank you for the feedback for the music. I tried my best with making a decent soundtrack. I don't have a music background, but it is something to look forward to learning with my future projects!
I like the artstyle so much! Reminds me of the games I used to play back then :D
Thank you! I was heavily inspired by the older Pokémon games and was aiming for that. I'm glad to have given you that feeling of nostalgia! ^^
pixel art is cool. The music is slightly creepy, because the tone in the background can sound like walking, usually present in retro games, all together it can feel very repetetive with the pace of gameplay. Gameplay is a bit slow and you can get slowed down sometimes by walking into near unskippable dialogue. Some of the gifts can feel a bit unexpected (sunflower seeds to *no spoiler*). Samson could seem angry from parallel with hair pixels. Great characters, would like a sequel of some sorts with them included (jk or not jk)
Thanks for playing! I don't have any music theory knowledge, but I am going to keep pushing and learn how to create better tracks. Who knows! A sequel or a prequel might be on the way! (˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
The art style is so clean
Thank you! I tried my best and am glad that it came out okay ^^
Lovely game!
Thanks for playing! ^^
