This is insane quality. Also insane quality for a week, but mostly just insane quality. The art and sound design are incredible, the game and controls feels great, and the premise is perfectly absurd.
I have a few minor nitpicks, the biggest one being that it wasn't super clear what was going on at first, so the start of my first run felt a bit confusing. I got it fairly quickly, but a brief tutorial would have gone a long way to fixing this. Even something simple like an extension to the dialogue at the beginning. Maybe the protagonist (or antihero, I guess?) could mutter something about taking everyone else down with him. They could even say it while you're filling out the first round of eviction notices so you can keep the game's name as the last spoken line in the intro. A smaller issue (that might just be an issue with me, rather than the game) is that the transition between walking around and the typing minigame felt a bit too sudden, mostly due to the abrupt change in controls generally while my hand was still on the mouse. I kinda get why it's this way, given that the game is timed (and since I could just move my hand a bit earlier, hence why it might be an issue with me), but it still felt a bit too abrupt.
Thankyou for the creative suggestions!
For the typing minigame, we also find the entry and exit pretty unpolished and not fully thought of. We're pretty much looking forward to add more content and clean up the controls whenever the rating-phase has ended. As for the narrative, we'll definitely bring more to the table, since we weren't able to tell the story fully in this state.
We appreciate you reaching out!
Thanks for giving it a try and for the feedback!
You've got a really hilarious interpretation of the theme. Also one of the few 3D games so that deserves some bonus points. The music and the art were also spot-on. Besides a few UX issues (that's to be expected for a game jam game), this was great!
Thanks for trying it!
Well polished.
Thankyou! Do let us know if you guys have any feedbacks :D
Very cool game! Realy creative idea and I had a lot of fun!
Appreciate the feedback! Happy you enjoyed it!
i really like this !
Thank you!
Really cool idea and style, others alraedy pointed this but gameloop is a bit cconfusing
We appreciate the feedback! It's definitely already noted and we'll manage some effort to clear the tutorials up ingame :D
Loved the idea and the mood! And despite me being bad at fast-typing I still enjoyed it :>
Thanks for giving your time! We're also looking forward to update the content to a more beginner-friendly and clean the gameloop once we have the permission to add contents :)
I agree with the other comments in general, nice idea and a bit confusing gameplay at the beginnig, in general a good overall impression that worth a further development!
Thank you! We'll also be looking forward to clean the content up and hopefully add more to the core :D
The design of the art/models and overall ambience from the sfx made the game feel really interesting to play, and fit the atmosphere perfectly! The actual gameplay loop was a little confusing to understand, and got fairly repetitive quickly - but seemed like a fun idea that could be further developed for a longer game. great work overall :)
You're right honestly, we wanted to add a third stage to the game loop and add more personality to characters, but we didn't have time unfortunately. Stay tuned for the full version coming soon though!
holly molly this game is fire. My only complaint is for the first bit i was somewhat confused on what i was supposed to do after opening the doors, still an insanely good game though!
Thankyou for your kind comment!
I agree with most of the other comments; the take on the theme is fun and visually its captivating, but the typing mechanic definitely needed to be introduced better. I also think a mini-map would’ve been really helpful, atleast to show which aisle has which letters because it was super easy to get lost. Otherwise, solid entry!
Thanks! We'll add the minimap in the new version for sure after all these comments. Even I myself got lost lol. We didn't really have time to add it but thanks for your comment!
Thankyou for the feedback! We'll definitely look into it and polish more on the tutorial side after the jam ends, as it counts as a new content therefore not allowed.
loved the youtube intro
Yeah, it’s really cool, it was actually going to be in the game at first but it wasn’t exporting properly… All credit for it goes to Cupcake
all i have to say is... Damm its good but if forgot how to stamp (my skill issue not yours so it dose not reflex the rating)
Thanks! We’ll add more indicators later if you need it. Ps. Use D to grab a paper, click to stamp, W to sign and A to store it
Love the game and the presentation, 5 stars all around! Really clever take on the theme too. The typing mechanic definitely could've been tutorialized though, as it's not immediately clear what you're meant to do. Other than that, it's a sick game and one of my personal favorites from the jam.
Thanks for your review! We’ll add a better tutorial when we make the full version of the game :)
very nice visuals, that's all I have to say
Thanks! Do you have any other suggestions?
Maybe something like a minimap?
The game is really well designed and super clever. Really great job yall!
Thanks for checking our game out! We're also open for feedbacks, so feel free to also give us some :)
The game was a lot of fun! the visuals were really cool, if you can put text saying i have to type the names, it would be useful, it took me until I was almost out of time to realize that I had to type out their names lol
Thanks for the feedback! We'll look into adding something like that soon as we're allowed to add things!
Wow you game has so much style! I loved the shader on top of your 3D art and really liked the perspective shifting with the camera. Well done!
Thank you! I worked hard on that 🫡
nice game would recommend and definitely play again 10/10
We appreciate that!
I love the overall style, humor and vibe. Sadly Im stuck after stamping and havent knocked in any door yet. But 11/10 for the overall package!
oh no, thats the best part! I'll give you a tip though since we've had some problems on showing the tutorial in the page.
You just basically stamp notices 8 times: press D to take a file, Left-Click, press W to sign, and lastly press A to finish.
After that you need to find the tenant's rooms and kick them out by typing their names!
Thanks for checking out our game!
Jeah, i did this but then im wandering around in the room and cannot turn the camera. It feels like the mouse should move the camera so, but I can only face forward and there is no way to leave the room... Im feeling really stupid rn haha
oh sorry about that! The lighting might make it hard to see, there's a door with text on it to help direct people but if you can't look around you'd not be able to find it, we'll give it a look and try to recreate the issue to fix it!
If the issue continues give the download version a try since we've had issues with the website version!
Thanks a bunch for letting us know!
Oh, you can’t turn the camera? Try switching browsers. This happened to a friend where the cursor wouldn’t get locked, since some browsers just block it. Try to check the itch settings and allow mouse capturing
