The idea behind this has huge potential, and what you did complete as part of the jam works really well and shows how far this idea could go.
Thank you so much for playing! Iโm really glad you liked the idea :D
Perfect entry all around
Wow, thank you so much for that! Iโm so happy you enjoyed it :D
The story had heart, thanks for that :)
Thank you so much for playing and saying that! Iโll relay the compliment to Miguel, they set up most of the story :D
Really well executed design. You nailed the conversational vibe with the art and writing.
Wow, thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed it :D
I was super hyped when I was a deck building interactive conversation sim, but then there was no deckbuilding ๐
Anyway, I don't play much story-based stuff, but the writing was really nice and the artstyle is just lovely. Got the infamous crash on my 2nd playthrough.
Sorry about that! :( I should have phrased that differently tbh. In the original idea we were thinking about proper deck building, but we already overscoped for the jam and writing all the branching options for every possible card was a lot of work that we barely had time to check or to expand the features (thatโs where the crash comes from ahaha). Thank you for playing anyways and Iโm glad you still enjoyed the writing and artstyle :D
Nice work. I like the idea. Not quite the gameplay in the end and I hit a crash in act 3 maybe, but I think it could work really well.
Thank you so much for playing! Sorry for the crash :( Hope you enjoyed it a bit still
I really love the look and feel. The subtle animations add a ton. Maybe there's something not quite right about the lighting / color tone, because everything seems a bit brown.
The one playthrough that didn't crash for me was the one where I chose ridiculous non-sequitur answers though.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Yeah, there is a lot to improve, and we made the art in a rush so thereโs that. And thatโs so interesting about the crash, I found the reason for the one were you give crazy answers, but this one seems new. We will have to investigate! Thanks again though :D
Good game, though the theme isn't a prominent thing.
Got the secret ending lol
Ahaha you discovered it! No but really itโs what I replied to one of the other comments, we didnโt have time to playtest and missed an option line in one of the places of the script, so it crashes ๐ Thank you so much for playing though, and sorry about that! ^u^
Quite nice game. I managed to make a deadlock or something when I choosed a totally out-of-context card just when the waiter arrived. The game just freezed (played with browser version)
Thanks so much for playing! I was just looking through the script and I think I figured out what happened. To create the dialogue tree we specify the options we want to explicitly handle and then have an โotherโ path for the ones that are so far fetched that donโt really make sense. And in one of the lines we forgot to put the other path, so it probably just crashed. So sorry for that, but thanks for telling us. We will definitely be fixing it and testing it more for an updated after jam version :D
I normally don't like story-oriented games whether the choices belong to the player or not, but in this small scope, I really enjoyed it. I was very excited to learn about the characters since the whole story was based on their interaction rather than reading a static text.
On top of those, I really struggled with the UI system of Bevy. It is mesmerizing to see someone who nailed it.
Awesome game!
Thanks so much for your kind comment! Iโm so glad you liked it. The UI system was kind of tricky to understand at first but after that it is really nice to work with! It is made similarly to flexbox on the web which allows for a lot of flexibility. I would say you could look at the code, but I donโt really recommend it ahaha, since with the deadline approaching everything became a spaghetti. But with more time you could make a lot of things with it. Thanks again for playing! :3
Really cute game with a cozy aesthetic, love the way the lighting matches the mood!
Iโm so glad you liked it! Thank you so much :D
Fun little dialogue tree with a nice aesthetic. Unfortunately freezes a lot, so I only managed to get 2 endings, and every time I was nice I got the same ending - do I have to be a nasty guy!?
Oh, Iโm so sorry that happened! :c We didnโt have much time to test it after the deadline. Right now there are 4 finished endings and the one that says it is a work in progress. One of the endings is bad, one is neutral, and the other two are kinda happy. If you replay it the cards you used on previous playthroughs will appear sort of greenish so you can keep track of the options you selected! But thank you so much for playing and giving feedback, we really hope to properly test it and make sure it doesnโt hang!
Ooh, I didn't realise the card colour changed. I'll play again and keep an eye on it. Great job btw!
it is so cool! It is interesting to see such a good and cozy art with such topic. And the card mechanic is very good!
Thank you so much! <33 So glad you enjoyed it :D
Beautiful game, I love the art style and the lighting effects as you go down different endings! Great work!
Thank you so much! Iโm so glad you liked it ^u^. The light changes were something we wanted to do since the beginning, but with so many things to do I literally finished them 10 minutes before submitting ahaha.
