I quite enjoyed playing this game. Great feel and enjoyed the musical theme! Thank you.

Overall I really liked the graphics and application of the theme! It's a fun little game!

My only criticisms are that:

The jump sound effect was a bit too high pitched and loud. I ended up muting the game to finish playing because it was just too annoying for me after a couple minutes.

While the trippy effects were really cool, I'd have liked them to be bit less intense and put more focus on effecting the controls rather than making the player dizzy with upside-down graphics. I understand you were going for something disorienting but I think a bit more moderation in that dimension would lead to more fun gameplay.

I don't mind that everything is slippery, but jump button was very unresponsive for some reason. Only 2/3 of my jumps registered and that is pretty frustrating thing to deal with in a platformer game. Other then that, wall jumps felt pretty good and overall a good game. Couldn't finish it, as last effect made me a little nauseous, but all other effects are pretty cool.

Once I read the comment about not pulling back, game was much more playable. Though it was very scary with the effects on the last level waiting to find out if I was going to slide off or not lol.

670... but I don't think I'll be trying again. I didn't mind the lack of friction as much. Just assumed that the hospital floors were slippery.

But I do feel somewhat ill myself at the moment! Really great use of the theme but I can't handle anymore.

Yeah I went a little overboard with the last effect I think.  I'm wondering if something inconsistent is happening with the character feeling slidey for some people.  On my machine the character almost instantly stops when I let go of the button.

EDIT: I caught it, if you hold opposite your movement to slow down you don't actually trigger the friction so pulling back makes you slide...  Releasing the button causes you to almost instantly stop

The trippy effects are really nice, but I think it's a bad fit for a platformer. The first 2 lvs are fine, the 3rd one is a tad tedious and the final one is just an exercise in frustration.
On top of that, the char controller is super slidy. I saw a comment below saying you were going for an SMB feel, but from what I remember, it wasn't that crazy even when sprinting.
Also  I don't there's any coyote time or it's super short. To be fair the controls are very consistent and their some snapping to platforms too.

My second time took slightly below 3 mins. I'm not gonna talk about my 1st try...

Hmm I'm starting to wonder if there is something inconsistent about the character controller on different PCs...  The character almost instantly comes to a stop on my machine and multiple people have reported it be very slidey and like being on ice.

Love the effect, I assume this was some shader manipulation of some sort, looking forward to a YT video on it ;) ... one bit of feedback, I would have loved to be able to use the arrow keys rather than WASD as for a side-scroller like this without mouse control that would have felt "right".

Thanks for the feedback!  I plan to make a tutorial for the post processing effects but I've already made the devlog style video for this.  Adding left and right keys would have been a really easy thing and I should remember to do that next time!

Very cool and trippy effects! Especially the last one. The controls are a little floaty in my opinion. It feels like the character is walking on ice. But I guess that's part of the challenge!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!  I did go for a floaty character controller by default, more meatboy than mario but I might have over done it.

Awesome game! Very challenging (or maybe I’m just bad). A good reminder not to do drugs :)

(((sry for earier comment it was very badly phrased)))

Super cute game! I love the tiny particle effects and all the trippy screen movements. The music is also so nice :D

Thank you!
