I like the way you made the houses! great game, was not expecting something like this :D

Developer

Thanks! It's funny for me to think that when I first started drawing those houses, I was also trying to figure out how to transition to the player walking inside them. I guess that it's hard to rein in our dreams, even on short game jams.

The scale and grandeur of the extended universe, puts mine to shame! I liked it.

Developer

Thanks! Ha ha, a couple of lines of text in the manual and a graphic choice or two can make a big difference!

The menu screen on the right was really well designed and liked the layout of your map

Developer

Thanks! I probably spent more time working on them than I should have, so it's nice to know that they worked well.

i really liked the houses and the way you knew when to attack the enemies

Developer

Thanks! I first drew the houses as solid blocks of colour but they were very boring, then I hit on the idea of using brown-on-white to make a kind of Tudor look. And having enemies telegraphing their attacks is something that's important to me, so I'm glad you liked it.

I liked the way you used the tilesheet, especially the mini-animations (star + oval = walking person) and the turned turnips = trees, etc.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! As soon as I saw the tileset at the start of the jam, I immediately thought I'd better rotate it through all four cardinal directions to find ways to maximise its potential.

Really digging the Galaga-style kill counter. Excellent use of the tileset!

Thanks! I was wracking my brains trying to think of a way to display a kill counter so there would at least be some kind of score to challenge.
