Interesting horror game, the Wendigo got me a couple times because I tried to squeeze in trees and I couldn't pass through 😂 However, I enjoyed my time with the setting, the atmosphere really set me in and I was there walking around holding my breath because I was getting scared as I got lost.

The map was bit hard to gauge though, because sometimes the landmarks look similar; like the barn and storage, and also the windmill and the wind turbine. I played it more than 3 times before I could memorize the place.

Anyway, I managed to exit the complex when I finally figured out how the Wendigo works. As I always say, it's a nice feeling to be able to finish playing a game in a jam, so thank you for keeping it short.
That said, good job on this entry. I love a good jump scare once or in my case, twice in a while. 😅

Thanks for the through reply and I'm really glad you got to finish it! Agreed that the map could do with a little more variety. Will be something for us to check out next time :)

That's a really great 3D game made in a week. You have included so many things into it and made a complete game. Also, the sound effects are really ominous but I loved it. The first time I saw him gave me a jumpscare and with that thumping sound, my heart started pounding. Great environment setup. I just loved it!!! Amazing work!!!

Also, if you have some time, please play and review my game. Thanks!

Developer

Thanks for the kind review! Glad we could give you a little jump scare along the way :). Will be sure to check out your entry!

Great game! I like lights and this gameplay! I like those low poly models. Good job!

P.S.

When I saw this main character I just thought about Minecraft cuz this arm a little bit similar hahaha)

Developer(+1)

Haha! Thanks for the kind comments. I can agree that the flashlight does look a little like the Minecraft arm!

You did a great job of conveying the mood of the game and it really built up the immersion, my only real criticism is that it was hard to see where it fit the theme.

Developer

Thank you for the kind comment! Check one of our other comments for a little more detail on the theme!

Even reading the comments doesn't save you from not getting scared. Nice job guys!

Glad you enjoyed the game. (And for giving you a scare) ;) thanks for commenting

Its a genuinely scary game, that first jumpscare got me good. My only criticisms would be that the jam's theme wasn't represented that much and its kind of samey when compared to other indie survival-horror games, but that doesn't detract from the fact that you made a fun, scary game in only 7 days. Heck, I couldn't write a 3D game in 7 months, let alone a good one in 7 days.

Thanks Carter! We were going to make more enemies spawn more the less sanity you had. Instead we decided to go with LESS sanity = MORE enemy speed :)

The theming and the visuals are amazing and contribute a lot to the atmosphere!

Thank you Tommy!

You're welcome! I'd be really grateful if you could try my game too!

Of course, just did!

I heard the heartbeat sound and my sanity meter was going down, so I was like "Where is he?" so I walked out the house went down the stairs and he was right next to me. Scared my self half to death XD Greate horror game, loved it!

Developer

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! We're happy we got you with at least one jump scare!

That jumpscare made me actually jump! It is not fair. We were just doing our tasks together with the wendigo, I was caught off guard when it jumped on me.

You made a map, a small story and core scary gameplay mechanics that most games have in this genre.

It is super impressive actually. My only criticism would be that it doesn't involve the theme a lot.

As you know, I don't like anonymous votes, so here is my rating :)

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you very much for this kind rating! We are glad the game could produce some level of fear and a jump scare as that was our hope! I can understand the theme looking a little vague. At one point we were going to have more enemies the lower your sanity gets but, because of time restrictions we decided to speed up the enemy as your sanity decreases.

Again, we really appreciate the feedback!

Guys I got so lost the wendingo couldn't find me.  Think I found the barn with the chicken coup, but where is the fuel?  Controls are great & visuals are solid. I just think I am missing something. Also runs great on my potato laptop.

Developer (1 edit)

Glad it runs great for you! Balancing a dark atmosphere with navigation was certainly a challenge.

Spoiler: The fuel would have been right there for you! ;)

Thanks for playing
