How did you/your team interpret the theme?
Instead of being the hero, you are the teacher who trains the hero

How was your/your team's experience in this jam?
Great! I managed to have a finished product although a lot are still unpolished.

I really liked the presentation of the game, the art and sound effects were really charming! However, I feel like the gameplay is kinda lackluster.  With a few tweaks, this would be a great game!

The speed animation was amazing haha. My heroes didn't make it D: Huge props on the solo entry!

Your art is fantastic! And the bgm is extremely good for a first attempt -- It shows awareness of medieval instrumentation (solo recorder) and even has decently classical phrase structure. I give this advice a lot, so I am sorry to anyone who sees all my comments and thinks they are repetitive, but:

Whenever you have music and sound effects, especially from multiple sources, you should try to pay attention to their relative volume levels. If your music is very quiet, the sound effects can become surprising. If the sound effects are normalized, then it is often necessary to bring the music's volume up to match that. You can do this for free in Audacity with the Amplify command! It's a small step but it helps the sfx and music to be more cohesive.

Thank you for the feedback! I actually lower down the bgm so that the sfx is more obvious. I realised you are right, it might be more annoying to suddenly have a louder sound. I will fix this after the jam. Thanks!

Like the idea of training heroes, and art is great too

I like the art style but it's so hard to figure the numbers to win... just one of my trainees came back.

Also, if you restart it only allows you to train one day, so my seudo heroes keep dying because lack of training.

Nice concept.

The art is really stylised which does a great job of making the game stand out from the rest! I especially like how the character outfits corresponds to their strengths!

There was clearly a lot of work put into the training grounds stuff! I did have to look at the spoiler to figure out what I should be aiming for. I also noticed that on retry the game only gives you one day instead of seven.

Oh, I didn't notice the number of days when replaying. Thank you!

Happy to help!

A really nice concept. Trying to figure out the math to maximize the characters benefits was interesting. I wish there was a little more variety but I really enjoyed the icons / animations in the main scene. Nice work!
