I had a mixed experience regarding the good and the bad.

I'm a big fan of bullet hell games, but this one falls short in some aspects of the genre.

Some asteroids have WAY TOO MUCH HEALTH, and sometimes that gets in the way. They could be destroyed with one or a few shots, but some seem like they don't break at all. On paper, this sounds cool, but in practice, it’s not. Dude, the eighth planet threw a ton of asteroids and even healed itself! Man, I spent 17 minutes on the eighth planet. Good thing I bought the HP regeneration, because otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get past that planet. But either way, I lost on the ninth planet.

As for the theme, it was a nice implementation. The art is pleasant, and the gameplay frustrated me a little.

Rating: 7/10

SCORE: 16.000 (Currently top 1 XD)

Thank you for the in-depth feedback.

Regarding the 8th boss (the tanky one), I do agree that it needs redesigning so that the player has an opportunity to get some more hits into the actual boss, rather than just relentless attacks.

Couple of questions:

  • Did you try playing on Normal mode before you tried Hard mode?
  • Did you make use of the downgrade mechanic at all? Its very useful for the boss you spent 17 minutes on.

Thanks again for all the feedback. Good to hear from people experienced with the Bullet Hell genre.

- no too XD

Ok, you played on super ultra-hardcore mode xD

Don't worry, some others players missed the downgrade mechanic too ;)

I really like the mechanics of this game, I feel I’ve seen similar approaches before but this was among the pretier ones. The “boss” design itself was a little flat as each planet has some variations but it would be the same throught the fight. It started feeling a little long even with upgrades and I endedup in a stalmate with a planet that kept healing itself. I made it to 7000 points, not sure if there is some barrier there but I see some significantly higher scores in the scoreboard.

Hi, thank you for the feedback. Happy to hear you liked the graphics and the mechanics of the game.

The 8th Planet is quite challenging I agree - the trick is to respec all points into damage.

I might implement a customizable difficulty system where you can adjust planet health/damage at the expense of score once the Jam is over.

I'm also thinking of redesigning the boss you got stuck on so that there is a gap where you can attack it freely.
