How does your game fit the theme?
The game presents itself as a simple platformer, but if you really want to reach the end, you must dive deeper into the game than one might expect.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I used sfxia: https://rxi.itch.io/sfxia
for sound effects.
Apart from this, everything was done from scratch.

Hi ;) Sadly I didn't have time to play through the whole game but I definitely enjoyed it! The movement feels great and I like that you can 'shoot' in the direction you want. I just wish you could respawn faster and some more checkpoints. It's a great game, good job!

Really fun controls! Could definitely be expanded into something bigger :)

I got up to the start of 1-3 but then my browser reloaded accidentally (using the right click for controls sometimes opens up a menu in some browsers, although I think it was definitely the correct choice for your game) and I kind of stopped playing then. Really unfortunate because I was really excited to see the boss being upset at me, from the NPC in 1-1.

Only a small piece of feedback, I feel like you should stop the player from moving while the level card shows up. It's weird to sometimes start the level and be in a weird spot

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! :)

I didn't consider browser popup menus D:

Very fun game, the controls were good, and the movement was really fun although I felt limited with the grapple cool down. Not sure what should I do at level 2.1.

Developer

Level 2.1 is a story drop. All of the 2.x levels are more story based, and you get to each of them via the alt clear in the 1.x levels. The NPCs will guide you in what to do to reach the end.

Controls were a little difficult for me at first but cool concept overall!!

Great game. The movement is really good, and you can do some really awesome tricks and combos with them. I can definetly see this as a speedrunning game. and the music when your in a level is so good. the difficulty spike is a bit harsh, but I did managed to beat it. I do wish there was some kind of tutorial, since I didn't know there was a grapling hook at first and beat level 1 without it. but besides that it was a really fun game.

Great game. keep it up♥

Developer

Which ending did you get??

Submitted

I got to 2-1, and when I beat that, nothing really happned, no new levels or anythin. so I assumed that was the ending

Developer (1 edit)

Not quite. There's a hidden quest line. Try searching for alternate endings to the levels and talking to the npcs. Alternate endings unlock the 2-x levels which are more story driven than the 1-x levels

This is where diving deeper comes in

Submitted

ahhh. I'll check it out

Submitted

I went back to try and find all the alternate endings to the levels. which was really fun. and I captured the mole, so the bad ending I guess.

Developer

Cool! Did u enter the override code?

Submitted

feels like a fully polished game

Controls are easy to pickup but seem difficult to master (idk maybe im just bad)

Some audio controls might be helpful, was mildly deafened when playing

Developer

Sorry about that D:

I used bosca ceoil for audio and its a lil tricky to balance things well(+I lack skills in the field)

The game was really great . It took me sometime to understand the controls. I really liked that when we push the character up in the air, It eyes just came out, as a sign if fear. Good game mechanics .

Once I realized what left-clicking did, I thought this game felt pretty nice to play. I just wish restarting was a little faster so it would be less punishing. (Made it far enough to find the computer by the way)

NICEE. Glad to see somebody get 3 alt clears. You're getting close to the end! :)

And thanks for your constructive feedback as well!

I like the audio and music! A complex yet fun game to play! Good job!

Fun game! Was a little tricky to figure out the rope jumping mechanics but otherwise great job.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a shot! How far didja make it?

Submitted(+1)

it’s cool to see a movement system similar to mine! Like the take on this on. I don’t see that much of a difference from a normal platformer though. I think you could have taken more inspiration from the theme. But overall great game!

Developer

You should try to dive a little deeper... ;)

Listen. It took me 10min to pass this second level hiking hole. I'm so bad. A great game! So smooth, with the little is has. Great Job!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a shot :)

I was worried the level design might be too hard :(

The game is actually very story driven but you need to dive a little deeper to get to that...

Submitted(+1)

I'll give you updates of my thoughts when I finish it ( I felt it was story driven the way dialogs are written, and with some hidden informations with 2.- levels )!

The gameplay was challenging but very fun to play. Very enjoyable

Developer

Thanks! didja get to the end?
