How does your game fit the theme?
It is a game about "diving deeper". In a double-meaning, but dont't want to say too much, to avoid spoilers ;-)

And it was made within 1 week by myself as an indiedev.

So guess that should fit for the theme then.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No, i used a few game-assets. Was focusing on game-mechanics and the story. Would have been ways too less time to also make all the assets in that short time from scratch unfortunately.

As soon as I started to think the game lacked variety, I got a shotgun strapped to my back.

Okay, maybe further in than as soon as I started to think that.

Get to the absurd stuff faster next time.

Great job to the team. I hope this was an experiment you all learned a lot from.

I liked putting my swimsuit together before the dive, and it reminded me of some nostalgic games I couldn't place my finger on.

Glad you reached the light on the other side of this game jam with a game!

Developer

Thank you for that great feedback. Actually describes pretty exactly what i hoped to achieve with the story^^

Yes definitely learned a lot during this jam.

Btw: The "team" is just me...  so it's actually an even better compliment, when you think it was made by a whole team :-)

That was cool. After the music changed the first time, I felt dread every time I went deeper. Very atmospheric.

I would have preferred a darker ending tbh, to suit the built up tension from earlier. Also the swimming felt a bit slow, which made exploring seem a bit tedious at times.

Overall, I liked it. The game provided a good atmospheric experience and was well made in a week.

Developer(+1)

Haha, yes i think another ending also could have fit, but thought in this way i have lots of "freedom" in doing stuff before :P

But definitely glad that you played it completely through and liked it, Thank you very much for the feedback!

One of the best tutorials I've played so far, thanks for adding that! It would've been great if it had continued a little more when diving, as I ended up in some dead ends a lot of the time. But the twist that comes later is pretty cool, as things were seeming very chirpy up above! Nice:)

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much. Yes, i tried to adapt the visuals also more and more, the deeper you get, so that the story makes bit more sense^^ Definitely understand the problem with the dead ends and that's a big lessons learned, i've got from this jam already :-)

Easy controls and interesting story, good job!

Developer

Thank you :-)

Really cool game, i liked the tutorial and controls. Good job.

Developer

Thanks :-)

I liked the game! I did come across a bug where When I got to the bottom of one of the sections underwater I appeared to be stuck to the floor and couldn't swim up. But I appreciate the game was made in a week! And considering this, it is a very good game, had a lot of depth! and could be expanded upon!

Developer

Thank you. Yes, probably a wrong collider or so unfortunately :-/ Do you roughly remember in which section it was? Maybe should finetune a bit...

I haven't played through the full game, but I think the diving part is a bit boring, you just swim back and forth, and you don't really know where to go so you go to a dead end. I liked the boat swimming, so maybe if the diving part was more interesting and shorter? You could go to many different places by boat and then dive there to find interesting places/sunken things.
It's still a great game tho, good job ;)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. That's actually a pretty good idea. Not sure yet if i'll continue with the project, but if so, guess definitely will consider something like that, thank you :-)

Really like how this game is about both literally and metaphorically diving deeper.

Unfortunately I encountered a bug where full screening the game after it starts breaks it and essentially forces you to reset, so I wasn't able to finish it.

Developer

Oh damn, sorry for that. Do you remember, where it was, or did you maybe get any logs or so?

Submitted

It occurs if you minimize the game then full screen it again, or if you wait until it's loaded to full screen it. It basically just shows the loading bar.

Developer

Hmm ok, i tried it a few times now. In Chrome seems no problem at all. In Firefox i saw something similar what you describe, but game seems to continue when you click with the mouse on the screen. Is that the same one you meant?

Definitely shouldn't happen, i'll check out, thank you for reporting it :-)

Submitted

Yep, that seems to be it. I'm using Firefox, I probably should have mentioned that originally.

I honestly had no idea I could just click to continue.

Developer

Ok nice, then I'm glad that it at least does not complete crash the game. Also just realized accidentaly that i can continue with clicking^^

Submitted

An interesting game with easy controls. There is a plot that allows you to immerse yourself in the game deeper.

Developer

Thank you for playing :-)

Its Very Good! But The Boat Movement Was A Bit Sus Other Then That Its All Oky. :D

Developer(+1)

Haha, yes i guess it's probably the missing paddle animation that makes it look a bit weird :D
Thank you for playing and the feedback.

Good job on this game! I think as with many others a little bit of signposting telling players where to go would be helpful in the long run since the maps are rather big. The water sound while diving was very loud and distracting since it does not really portray the surroundings the player are in (dripping water instead of being underwater). I can definitely tell that you have an eye for level design, so keep working on that!

Developer

Oh, that's actually true. Haven't considered that.  thank you very much for the feedback and the kind words :-)

This fits the theme well! The animation, audio, and game design are great, but sometimes, you get lost/confused when you go in the wrong (or right) direction so the game might need a navigation system. Besides that, the game is great and interesting to play!

Developer(+1)

Thank you :-)

That's actually a good idea with the navigation system. Actually planned to let the character speak ways more, so that he kind of tells you between the lines, if direction is correct or not. Just was unfortunately too less time to write all these texts...

wow, the 3D models in this was crazy! But the lighting in the water needs some work.

mind checking out mines?

Developer

Thank you. Yes, i know what you mean, but actually if you played it to the end, you understand, why it's kind of "ok", when not everything looks perfectly realistic :p

Also just played yours. Pretty fun one :-)

good game :)

Developer

Thank you!

Pretty nice and simple (in a good way) game that encourages you to "dive deeper" and further explore the reservoir. Perfectly fits the theme. The collisions are a bit odd, my character sometimes got stuck on some props or by an "invisible wall" and some objects that sould have collision just don't have it.

Overall, for a one-man team and a one week jam, I'd say it's an interesting game.

Cheers!

Developer

Yes, i agree, should have probably finetuned the colliders and borders bit better. Noticed it also on my later playtests, but then time was too short already unfortunately^^ Definitely a lessons learned from this jam.

Thank you very much for the feedback, glad that you liked it.

Nice game!
