to me it seems like you had a great idea but couldnt quite finish it. there are a lot of systems that could be really cool if they would be expanded upon. For example the weapons are great and satisfying to use but in the end it doesnt matter which one you use, you just shoot at an enemy till you have to reload and by that time the enmy is dead; which brings me to my next point, the enemys where pretty cool designed and at first seemed like a challenge but they just cant reach you if you have a loaded weapon, also they just seem to spawn at a certaint point of the map which doesnt encourage exploration and especially deeper diving that much but i assume thats either a bug or a system you didnt have time to finish. The best aspects of the game where definitly the weapons and the SFX only critique here is that the ambient sound just stops at a cerataint point into a run. I personally dont mind the relativly simple visuals but just a little bit of playing with the lighting could sell the whole underwater aspect way better, overall tho a pretty fun game which grabbed my attention for longer than most games i played so far, so very good job on that!
Nice concept! The character/fish animations were neat, SFX was great, and the shop was a nice surprise, adds some replayability. The only thing gameplay-wise was that I found myself swimming in nothingness for a while to find enemies; it might be cool if fish spawned near you, adding more fish, or even make them notice and attack you earlier. I think it would be great to have a background with fish, plants, sea creatures... It would add lots of live to the game, and make the world feel much much bigger! Didn't find many bugs, only that the music didn't loop for me. Also, some impact sounds when shooting enemies would make a great difference in game-feel!
Game's great fun! With some fixes here and there, it would make for a great experience. Keep it up!
I had a hard time finding anything to shoot. It took a while before I found my first fish. I didn't know how to get back to the shop to buy upgrades. I really like the swimming animation! It would be nice if there was something to look at in the background.
Thank you for your feedback! I was running out of time so I rushed to make the environment. And there is a bug with enemy spawning system too. To get back to the shop you need to die or hit Restart on Menu haha. This is my second attemp on game jam so I have a lot to learn.
I really appreciate your time on playing my game :)
First, I think you should add more fish, and some reasons for player to dive deeper!
Second, its really hard to know that where is the fish, and where is the player, add some background or stat like depth, enemy number, or a minimap will help a lots!
Third, the dash system is nearly meaningless, the fish cant touch you!
But this game is quite fun, I love the gun sound, love the stick man animation! This game has large potential. Keep it up!
Thank you for your feedback! I'll take that in mind.
About the dash, actually as you dive deeper, there are some creatures that chase you really fast, you can't out run them if you don't have dash or upgrades. However I'd encountered a bug on enemy spawn system, so the game didn't spawn enemies as I intended and I didn't have enough time to fix that haha.
I really appreciate your time here :)
Quite a nice game, but it requires you to swim through (almost) nothingness to reach enemies and once I defeated then I don't know what to do because again I am in an empty void.
I like the artstyle and music effects. And I feel satisfied from using the weapon. The upgade system gives the game nice depth.
It's a good game, but improvements of impact with enemies and changing the place where their spawn would make it even better.
