I really liked the challenge of the puzzles. I wish there was a tutorial to ease me into how the seals and penguins interact with each other, but it was fun to figure that out on my own too ngl. Really engaging puzzle design too! It's amazing how you managed to make this into a puzzle game with the mechanics at hand. Great work!

I'm a big fan of this kind of puzzle game and I think it could do well as a mobile game. Like the previous reviewer, I also wasn't able to get past the level that looked like an "F" so I don't know if you have this later on, but it could be cool to add more mechanics as the game continues such as breakable ice, other obstacles etc. I had a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.

Breakable ice is an interesting idea, I'll look into adding that

Developer

I'll add the answer here since it seems to be coming up a lot and there are quite a few levels past that:

Entice the seal on the snow to get closer by placing a fish next to it. Then place a fish on the snow next to that spot, which attracts both seals. From there you should be able to guide the penguin to safety.

A pretty fun and sweet little puzzle game. Well done.

The puzzles were fun to figure out! I like how the levels were designed such that the player learns how the game works on the go. The music and graphics were pleasant. I'm stuck on level 5 (the one that looks like an F) currently, but I am looking forward to beating it!

Developer

Don't read the following if you don't want to be spoiled:

That level is trying to teach you that a seal can block another seal from sliding.

Impressive job. SInce you guys have a grid based game in the works that propably helped get so far in just one week.

Very cute game and a surprising amount of puzzles. I felt they perhaps weren't in exactly the order of difficulty but that' subjective anyway.

Really good job and there's diving so it matches the theme :D 4/5 in my opinion for everything. Definately within my top3 of best Jam Games this iteration.

Hey Solitar, thanks for your kind words!

I have a git repository that I made that has common solutions to problems I see often. It has classes like  "OnClicked" or "StringifyMap" which were both used for this jam. Interestingly I wasn't able to reuse any of the grid based movement code from the other project, and I might like my new code better lol

So yeah, previous experience helped a lot with this jam.

Very cool chill game. The music is relaxing and the levels well thought out. Once you've mastered the logic, you'll be able to move quickly to the end. I really like this genre, bravo!

Nice little chill puzzle. Only issue I found (not gamebreaking) is that you can still add fish to the ice after the "end of level" window is up (it seems to cap at 100 fish). Overall a great game tho, Good job, I enjoyed it!

Developer(+1)

I can't believe you found the limit lol

It's a cool game (literally XD). I like how there is no tutorial and the first few levels teach you how to play. I seemed to get 3 snowflakes everytime, so I think the rating system is bugged, but everything else was really nice and polished.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!  You'll get 3 snowflakes if you save all penguins.  I might have it take into consideration how many fish you use, but that was a bit too complicated for the jam.

Submitted(+1)

Ah I see, I thought it was based on fish haha. I really like that you included your level editor too. Great job

Submitted(+1)

Good touch letting players skip levels without finishing them. Very relaxing game. Great job.

i was just a bit confused at first but once i realised how the penguins and seals would react in differnet spots it became super fun and puzzling to figure the levels out! not to mention how cute they look too! really great game loved to play it!

Developer

I mayyyyy need to add a bit more tutorial. Thanks for playing 😀
