How does your game fit the theme?
When the storm is coming and you know it's inevitable, you may be in a hurry to prepare for it. We wanted to create a game revolving around this paradox.
In Damn! you are rushing to chop wood, build and reinforce the dam before the waves come and flood the village.
From a gameplay perspective we wanted the game to be fast-paced before the catastrophy and, on contrary be rather calm after the storm. In fact there is no "after the storm" in our game : you either suceed or die.
There is an evolution in the clicks you make : at first you only need to click as fast as you can, then you need to position the clicks properly and finally you need to click in rythm with the waves.
We hope you will enjoy our very first game !
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes we did. We used Godot 4.3 for the code and mosty Photoshop for the visaul assets and Audacity for the SFX.

Very innovative design! The graphics are simplistic but very effective, and it's really impressive you managed to make 3 separate phases!
The ending sound effect was hilarious but a tad too long, for someone bad dad lost too often like me hahaha.
Overall very well executed, congrats!
The ending SFX was a bit too loud, to the point it startled me when it happened.
I thought the little trees were also choppable, but welp. Lost a couple clicks there.
Didn’t know it was colourblind accessible though. Games usually don’t really take into account accessibility, specially when it comes to graphics. Now that’s something that I reaaaaally wanna see more.
good work!
Nice work! I quite like this game, and I found myself playing it over again a few times. You have a perfectly focused concept that is just right for a game jam, and you executed it wonderfully. I like that you made the game accessible to people with color blindness as well -- that's not something you see often!
I somehow saved and drowned the villagers in the same run. Besides that, I love this game's 3-act structure, its controls, and how the scenario connects all these elements. I also appreciate the promotion of accessibility with visuals suited for protanopic/deuteranopic gamers. Awesome work.
Amazing! I really like the fast clicking and gameplay based on reflexes!
short and sweet, super addictive too! i loved the use of the limited colour palette, it actually does wonders for your game (and fits the theme/environment quite well)! i had a few issues with the game freezing/becoming unresponsive but that could just be an issue on my end. love this!!! and shout out to the sound team, i loved the sfx and the victory noise bahaha
Very simple, short, and fun enough for a jam game, particularly if it's your first! One time the game froze during the dam building section, but otherwise didn't find any bugs. Couldn't beat the third game after a couple of tries though. Congrats on your first game! Have fun with your future projects!
Thx a lot for you comment ! I thing the tuning of the diffuclty on the 3rd level isn't that good (:
the death screen gave me a visceral reaction, idk if that's good or bad. cool concept!
Interesting audio choices but other than that a pretty cool game, I'm always bad at those so I only made it to 3rd level, but still pretty awesome, level 2 was SO Hard omg.
overall pretty good 8.5/10 :>
