How does your game fit the theme?
Currently it only fits the theme though it's atmosphere. Although it was inteded to have mechanics surrounding the theme, I ran out of time.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all the textures, 3D models, shaders, and code were created by me. The sky box texture was a free unity asset. The only sound effects are the sounds from your computer fan once the game starts.

While it is a bit bare-bones and lack some features, I think it is one of the games I've played in the jam that have evoked by imagination the most. If you made a longer exploration game out of this, with sounds and more emphasis on atmosphere, I think it could be awesome. The flying mechanics as is feel really solid

The feeling of flying around is relaxing, although I got to a point where the islands started despawning, which was annoying. Having something like a landing accuracy test for a future build might be a great place to start for adding more mechanics, but the experience itself is valuable on its own with its calming gameplay.

This is a really interesting project, and I'd like to see what you can add on to this! I love the feeling of flying and being free to explore the world, so this game really resonated with me.

Some feedback:

  • Maybe add a cloud layer under the islands as well as random clouds around the sky so the player has a good point of reference while flying. It was hard to tell I was even moving sometimes.
  • On a related note, the islands feel a bit far apart sometimes.
  • Audio would really elevate this experience.
  • Maybe add a post processing effect around the borders of the screen (a radial blur is really good for this) to simulate the wind in your face.
  • I'd like to have something to do in this world. It's a really good foundation for a variety of genres and I want to see what you can come up with!

Really like the vibe and atmosphere of the game. The movement feels very good as well, really hope to see it developped further!

Great game! I love it ;D

I agree with Gregry. It's cool to fly around for a while amongst these strange islands. Some music would really sell the atmosphere.

Thank you! Yeah I wish I was able to put in some music and rain sounds!

This one surprised me.

There's not much here but what is here is interesting on it's own for a minute.

There's almost no gameplay.  You just fly around some floating islands.

But the islands shapes are interesting, the shaders / sky / shapes come together into an intriguing atmosphere.

Thank you! I am so happy to see this comment as it describes exactly what I was hoping the experience would be despite not being able to implement gameplay :)
