Fantastic game! :D Wonderful controls, graphics and audio. I can't judge the level design well though because  I was having a problem where every so often a level would load completely black and I had to start again. The furthest I could get was level 5 :(

Developer

Thank you so much for trying out my game. That is an unfortunate and strange bug. You're the first person to report it and I have no idea how to replicate it. Can you give me some more details on your system? OS, GPU, etc?

PS: Your game is wonderful by the way. It's incredible how you pulled it off in such as short amount of time.

This game completely blew me away. The graphics, music, feel, juice and it was a lot of fun too. 5/5. Congrats!

Wow!  This is something special.  Reminiscent of a Williams Arcade game.  I'm thinking Defender and Robotron.  Well done.

Maaan, i want to play that game but can't get past my antivirus for some reason... is there anyway you could publish it in WebGL?

Based on the screenshots alone it looks like a must-play

EDIT: managed to play the game and boy this is by far the best i've played in this competition: 5/5!

The entire look and feel, level design, music... everything is so pro and kept going for ONE. MORE. TRY! Love this game! And the boss fight is too good!

Developer

sorry... This is a download only... What happens with the antivirus?

Great game! and amazing aesthetics

It's clear that some good thought was put into the level design, and that made it feel very polished. I also like that you added a knockback when firing. There were a few areas, like a small moving platform over spikes or having to keep your timing jumping over bubbles while clearing out an enemy on a higher platform, that were made significantly more challenging where you could otherwise have essentially kept the fire button held down and breezed through. Felt very much like a Super Meat Boy kind of game, where you had to keep going through the level and dying farther along each time to finally go 'OH!' and string it all together. Very nice game!

10/10! Definitely one of the best I've played in the Jam yet!

So far, it's by far the best game of the jam I played (and I played around 35). The only all-five-rating for me.

Little criticism goes for when playing with a gamepad, up and down arrow-keys (D-pad) for some reason also move the character left and right, so when I came to the exit door I had to use joystick to move-up in order to exit.

Check out my game (3D-horror) as well: https://nns2009.itch.io/love-full-house

Cool game dude!!!

Cool game! I reached until the last level, only the boss had one pattern, so was easy to win the game. But a really polished game!

Incredible aesthetic! I loved it! The palette, the explosion's contrast, the feel.. it's all great! The little additional things also helped tie the experience together, like the water 'shader' and i believe i felt some freeze frames when hitting enemies but that might just be me :)

This is  a great game! I love the music and sounds, soooo amazing! The graphics and how the light was shining and the explosions - it was all soooo beautiful! It's a true pleasure to play!

Very polished game! It reminds me Rockman! The music, the pixel art and the gameplay fit well together, good job! The only (relatively) small problem I had was in the level where I need to run (automatic scroll), due to the amount of explosions, it was a bit laggy (on my old Macbook).

I already gave my thoughts on this game during the stream, but I figured I'll add a comment as well. This game is extremely well made, from the gameplay, to the art/graphics and audio. So far this has been my favorite submission.

Developer

Thanks for checking out the game on your stream!

Thanks for checking out our little game. The music was made by very talented team mate, Mark Sparling. You might wanna check out his work.

This was made in a singular week? I don't know how you pulled that off, the difficulty was good, graphics were good, music was good. practically everything was good and I cant think of a flaw besides it not being a fully released game, I would love to see this even more polished than it is now and worked on professionally for a while longer. Giving you two just a few months would make this a game that I could see many enjoying, truly excellent work!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words. This was made in a very painful sleepless week and I really don't wanna have that for a few months :)

Awesome!!! Dynamic, responsible and beautiful. It's truly a gem of this jam :D Can I know what engine you have used while making this? Unity, GameMaker or something different?

Developer

Thanks for trying out our game. It was made using Godot but it's a technically simple 2D game. I guess any modern engine could be used to make something like this.
