unfortunately the game won't start for me, but i played one version from the comments below . I have to say that it looks amazing. One question, the planets are procedurally generated?

Thank you for trying persisting and trying both versions, really glad you like it!
At this point no, we have prefabs of planets in different sizes and we just manually put them in locations. In our other project (first-person puzzler) every planet needs to be handcrafted and we never worked with procedual generation before, we felt like trying to tackle that in a week might be a bit too much... We do want to implement procedually generated levels to this game at some point but I don't know when we'll get to it hehe :)
your game is kinda awesome , cool , keep up the good work and can you rate us please. :)))
Nice visuals! I really liked the way the subatomic particles planets rendered, like they came into existence from nowhere and rapidly grew vegetation on their surface (even though it was just objects entering the camera's clipping distance).
Gameplay was pretty good, though it did feel like it was hard to control the ship precisely. I'd often be a little bit to the side of a hole, then tap the key and end up on the other side of the hole.
There could have been an in-game explanation as to why the player should enter the holes, I had to read the description for it.
Bug: The "Try Again" text/button stayed on top of the "Menu" button when I pressed Esc after death.
Thank you very much for the detailed feedback! The in-game explanation is definitley missing yeah, the movement is a bit tricky as your turn speed also increases with speed boosts, we'll need to take some time to properly fine-tune it. I won't even get into all the issues with the menu and death/win screens, there's a lot of bugs hehe, thank you for reporting!
Really glad you liked the visuals!!
I really like the graphical style here. The gameplay idea is really fun.
The sound are a little bit annoying after a while but I love the visuals they are simply amazing. Really cool and amazing game well done :D
Love the bright colours and trippy effects you have going on, makes it feel quite immersive! Controls are good, but I think it might benefit from the option to use the mouse instead of arrow keys (drag the mouse to turn). Really great game though!
Fun game to play and the graphics are really nice. I think the sound it makes when you move left or right is a bit harsh on the ears though, but the game is good
Really cool design and style. It was fun~ your low poly graphics are really well done! Hope you learned a lot this jam, keep improving! Great job submitting a game to the jam, please check out mine if you haven't :)
The graphics are great, but I was a bit confused over the goal. I finished the time without having died at all and thought I would win but I had lost haha, and I was wondering if going through the planets gave me an advantage or not. Pretty cool though
Thank you for the feedback! We'll need to incorporate some more info inside the game for sure, for the jam we decided to explain everything on itch's project page (first game jam, we didn't know it's possible to download a game straight from the submission page, whoops...)
The goal is to reach the black hole before the timer runs out and the bomb explodes. Going through a planet gives you perminant speed boost, so the more planets you go through, the faster you go. There's no way to reach the end without going through the planets, the rocket is just too slow :)
hey dude i'm in love with this kind of game !! nice game great work !
the game design the graphics both are more than epiiiiiiiic ! well done bro
btw i rated ur game can u do the same pls ?? and thx
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yup it takes long to start, but it worth it lol. The idea is cool, and i love the graphic aswell. its fun game, really nice job :3
Wow it was very beautiful with all the colors and the 3d designs :) also i loved the colorful tunnels and the music, Nice work!
The game won't start for me for some reason :(( Really wanted to play and rate your game, can you make a webgl build? (or help me figure out what to do to make this work please?)
We're sorry about it, we uploaded in the last moments and the build wasn't optimised well enough, it loads for a really long time at start up...
We made another project that should load faster, try if it works:
https://planetrealm.itch.io/bomb-in-a-hole
No additional polishing was done, we just dissabled some prefabs and scripts to make it load faster, all the bugs are still there so if you want to rate it we really appreciate it, but I really hope you at least manage to play it, thank you for wanting to try!
Wow, this is my new favorite game from the jam in terms of graphics! Definitely getting a five in that category from me, great job making a beautiful game. That is the coolest menu I have ever seen in a game jam, watching the rocket launch. I encountered a few bugs for example: (explosion going off at start of game, and never going off when you crash after that). But that is normal for a game jam. The core gameplay is pretty simple, but if you were ever to make a full game with this art style, I would totally buy it! Amazing job!
Thanks,
if you're interested in the design style we are also working on a game with different gameplay but the same visual style, it is still in early develpment stages however, https://planetrealm.github.io/ its avaliable for free, so if you feel like it do try it out.
