I am so glad I was able to play to the end! It's quite amazing how you were able to make a card game in a week! I love the hole-themed cards, although the audio loop did seem a bit short. I also appreciate the enemies referencing the stages of grief. Overall, you've really done a fantastic job with this entry!
Nice implementation. A card game seems (at least to me) quite challenging to pull off in the time frame of a game jam!
your game is kinda awesome , cool ,or amazing, keep up the good work and rate me please. :))) If we rate all who have lower ratings then we might even get better ratings so start rating most of the least rated games as I'm doing ;)
Not bad, I am not into card games (except Clash Royale, but it's barely a card game), but I liked this. Especially with all those PUNS. Guess you had the HOLE deal in there.
Very Nice! I loved how many hole themed cards you could think of. I thought it was a bit slow (pace wise), but other than that very cool card game!
I liked the music and the theme of the cards. I do feel like there could've been more graphical clues about getting lit on fire because I am too stupid to pay attention to numbers and suddenly I died to the first enemy....
Still a pretty decent game, did you use Snow# to make this?
Really nice game, but it failed with explaining game mechanics. Why shields disappear?
I guess it's not a problem for someone who actually played Slay the Spire.
Better introduction and some cleaner visual feedback, current one is quite good too, and this would be perfect.
As a programmer who once worked on a cards simulator, I love how smooth it is.
Well job polishing it with nice art and clean gameplay.
I won the game mostly spamming cards, and I never played any card game so I had little strategies. I have no idea what enemies were doing. creative card names though and to keep it sfw lol
and dedicating it to your wife makes it much special ^^
great ! i love the idea but the game needs more feedbacks for the player to know what's really happening! good job though. rated
Interesting concept to fight your inner demons. I could've wanted some additional sound effects and occasionally the card descriptions got clipped to the bottom of the screen. Otherwise seems a nice start.
this game is one of the most solid games of this jam! the game packs some good graphics and has a really great hidden story. the symbolism is very strong and every enemy really feel like they are the mental state they are supposed to be. from the defensive behavior of Loneliness and the aggressive moves of Death all of the enemies felt fresh even though the moves where limited
the programming behind the game is very strong im mostly impressed by the action queue. even with the best of my efforts i wasn't able to break it. the game it self was very solid too and the only bug i encountered was a blank card with no pictures.
the game's graphics although a little reminiscent of MS paint were very good and color pallet you chose for the card icons were great and fitting. although when it comes to the background things get a bit uneven. the background has a Strong cold Dark blue which in itself is hard to find matching colors to. that is fine but for the other i cons you used warm and bright colors. even the grey used on the cards has a warmth to it that really makes it pop. this is good but the contrast between the background and the cards make them feel a little strange and alien like. i know you were trying to simulate the mind and you tried stabilizing the temperature with the moving squares in the background and i appreciate that. but also i know you were limited in time and the solid gameplay this game provides really makes up for it. this section is getting too long so im gonna wrap it up here ( just a quick note: Fallout 4 had a similar environment where you travel inside Kellog's mind, they did a good job simulating a good mind like environment i suggest looking at that but at last your style is yours so i cant make you decide whats good or not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
the gameplay was really good and very similar to slay the spire (as you said in your description). the cards quantity wasn't on the large side but i think that made the experience more challenging. the wormhole is a bit too over powered in my opinion because with the combination of that and the rabbit hole you can pack some serious damage.
overall this game was really great. i would love a longer experience with the same enemies but i guess this was the wrap up for another game so that cant come reality but maybe a endless mode can come in handy
this was a great experience for me as a play tester and would love to see this in the jams top games
9.5 / 10
Wow, I wouldn't have expected an essay review on this game. Thanks Pixel, I very much appreciate it!
I probably won't be continuing this game post-jam (because the code is a mess and it's a pain to do anything at all), but I'll be taking note of your advice/critique for the next thing I decide to fabricate!
i wish there were more responses when i used cards, but overall a really nice idea and a good game. Great work!
This was a really fun game to play. The cards were interesting and the aesthetic is very nice!
