In what way does your game fit the theme?
I have two features that include REWIND. One is the reversal of enemies of like colors and the second is actually turning time in REWIND for up to 5 seconds to help avoid enemies. (Some enemies are not effected on purpose)

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All code and assets are my own. I have uploaded 3 Audio files that I did not create myself

I tried to find a recommendation no one had sent, but looks like people covered it all, even the sugestion to use forms along with the color to increase the acessibility, so all I have left is maybe you should add some screenshake to improve the game feel. Anyway, congratulation for this is a fun and nice game!

Developer

well thank you kindly for playing and rating my game! I am glad you liked it!

Developer

never thought about screen shake. Might have to try that out

Very addictive game. I really like the particles when you died. Although I think the player could be a bit more snappy.

Developer

Thank u for playing and rating! That is high on my list to fix. Probably with a settings feature.

Thanks again!

It's cool game but too simple, screenshot show things i didn't see in game like characters and settings

you can make the game better if you add:

 more levels-stages

characters

mods(touch same player color, avoid same player color, reach specific score to win)

you can add abilities like big bang you press button all things destroy

hiding ability you hide for amount of seconds

and you unlock these abilities when reaching some score idk

good game after all

Thanks for the in depth review. I have a lot of the same ideas, just couldn’t complete most of them with the time constraint. Even the skins and achievements are almost completely placeholders until I actually code them out. The mods u mentioned are actually in some of the achievements I had. Purple haze etc.

I didn’t think about the hide feature. I like that idea and will add it to the power ups when I can get back to development.

I truly appreciate your in depth rating! When I get the game down I would love to reach back out, or you could follow me.

Thanks again!

Developer

oh yeah, it also gets more difficult the longer you stay alive. I have an enemy multiplier that is temporal.

Submitted(+1)

Glad to hear you going to work on it more

sure i follow i wanna see the updates :D

Developer

I will do the same

Really fun game. You set up the death screen really well to cause people to have to play again. I think that the purple and pink colors are too alike and can be hard to differentiate. It is a very well designed game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the review! I agree and forgot to make the change prior to submission.  It was hard for me too when I was play testing.  One of the first things I will change. Thanks again!

Nice and simple arcade game, the graphics aren't too detailed but I don't mind that. The character controls do feel really slippery, so it makes it easy to run into enemies while trying to get a square of your color. I didn't find myself using the second rewind mechanic too much (rewinding time), I think having short bursts of enemies where the player is either forced to rewind and then position themselves, or if they're close enough, just position themselves would really help make use of that mechanic. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the in depth review! I will definitely look into your suggestions as they are good ones!

Thanks again!

Good game.  The need to play one more time is real!

Developer

Thank you so much playing and rating my game! It is a bit addictive, no?

Developer

Just realized, I have not played or rated yours.... give me a few.

Developer

Done!

Thank you wigglyr!

Super fun arcade game!! Did not understand how the theme was implemented until I finished playing and read it here. A small tutorial or a How to Play would have been nice.

But it was awesome!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you LoboBobo! That will be my first thing that I update in the game! Appreciate the time and effort put towards playing and rating my game!

Very smooth and unique game. My only complaint is that you've seem to have Vector3.lerped the movement of the ball which removes a lot of precision. Otherwise, Great job

Developer

Thanks Amanuel. I am definitely looking into having more control options as a setting. I appreciate the time you took to play and review my game!

Submitted(+1)

This game def has that, one more time, feeling. Every time I was thinking I was done playing, I'm like ok just one more :p  nice job. Feedback would be on the controls of the circle. Not sure I like it slowing down, would rather it stop the instant I lift on the key, I think.

Developer

Thank you Mastro2k. I am defineitlye looking into an options for the controls based off you your (and others) review. I am glad that you enjoyed it!

Niceeee i loved this game!!

Developer

Thank you so much FarhanExclusive!

This game becomes a bit of a puzzle!

Have you considered making the time-bar the color of the next color the player will be instead of the current? This could lead to the player making some interesting decisions to put themselves in a better position for the color change.

Developer

Thank you Bokonon!

I actually did think of that, but then understanding which ones you can currently hit might be confusing. I was trying to figure out a way to notify the user like you suggested, but I haven't come up with a good way yet.

Thanks again for playing and rating my game!

Nice game overall. Seems like it would be a great mobile game. The controls weren't as snappy as I wanted them to be which made it difficult to pass some of the more difficult waves. The rewind mechanic worked well and I think it is a nice touch. With some fine tuning and better graphics, this would be a great game.

Developer

Thank you Dostee for the time to play and rate my game!

If you don't mind me asking about the controls. What did you mean by snappy? Others complained that it might have been too quick. Did you mean that? Or was it too slow for you?

I plan on making a lot of changes as you have suggested.

Thanks again!

Submitted

No problem. And by snappy I mean quickly change direction and gain speed. For example, in your game, it takes a while to speed up and it feels sluggish, but then when you are going fast, changing direction is very sudden and powerful, sometimes making me overshoot where I wanted to go. Also, when I let go of the buttons, it takes a while to slow down when I'm going fast, as apposed to a more immediate stop.

Developer

Perfect! Thanks for taking the time to backtrack and respond. I appreciate it!

Good fun! Having to flick your eyes from top to bottom constantly  to make sure I knew what was about to happen really kept my heart pounding :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks Bodgins! Thanks for playing and rating my game!

Submitted(+1)

Good idea. I think it has potential to become a cool hypercasual game if you continue developing it!

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept! I would totally play this if it were on mobile and if it would be a bit more polished. I do think the graphics could've been better, but they are not bad. Good work!

Developer

Thanks Danial!

I plan on polishing this up for sure. Thanks for taking the time to play and rate my game!

This is a good game! I think the take on the theme is pretty good too. I just have one tiny remark: A and D keys are working but not the W. Either make them all work or remove the A and D keys. I also encountered that in another game so maybe it's some predefined settings from Unity or something...

Anyway, good work!

Edit: Also you could improve the game by giving a color-blind options (I don't expect that from a Jam game but it could be a fine addition) and using forms instead of colors.

Developer(+1)

Wow! Great input on the color blind options. Didn't even think of that. As for the W key not working it's probably because I was using the horizontal axis settings. But i believe I specifically used the up arrow key for reverse which i don't believe is mapped. So good catch. Also a first time someone remarked on that.

Thanks for all of the input. Will definitely work on those fixes.

I played 10 rounds just to really grasp the game! While not being the type of game I play (so I'm not the core audience of said games) it was still enjoyable! I tried to connect what I saw to the "rewind" theme but couldn't connect the two, I did enjoy the color patterns and the audio however! Was enjoyable!

Developer

Thanks thusky for the time and effort. I appreciate you playing and rating my game!

I would like to play this one with mouse (or touch in mobile devices) instead of keyboard, that way I could move more accurate.

I always confused pink with purple, but that's my problem :)

Graphics and audio are great, simple but very effective.

Colors are changing so fast, which is making the game hard, but the difficulty is not insane. We always like some challenge, huh?

This game is greatly enjoyable to play.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much for your in depth comments. I too have issues with the two purple / pink colors. Will try to pick another color to substitute one of them to make that fix.

Thanks again for your input and glad you like my game!

I see I haven't rated your game yet. Will play it now and post something.

This is a simple and enjoyable game. As others have said, this type of game is perfect for mobile phones. Great job.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much bitMagus! I appreciate you taking the time to play and rate it. Hope to get this out to mobile like you and others have suggested.

Cheers!
