In what way does your game fit the theme?
It has a time rewind mechanic which the gameplay is partially based around

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, apart from a cursor image and a font which I downloaded from the asset store I made everything myself.

This game is extremely well polished for such a short time period. Excellent work!

Wonderfull to hear that! Thanks!

It takes a bit too long to gather money for tech tree stuff. When i did have 200 coins i accidentally pressed escape and went back to the menu...

Developer(+1)

Yeah theese are the two mistakes I have noticed I made after the jam end. The game doesn't give enough money to the player which makes it way too difficult. The escape button was neccesary because at the end I noticed there was no way of quitting to menu instead of dying so I scrambled to make exiting with esc possible but didn't notice that people could just accedentaly quit the game. Anyway, thanks for the feedback! Also, could you please give me some feedback on the time rewind and the general game difficulty?

Thanks in advance!

The difficulty could be improved, I feel like the player has a bit too much health. As for the rewind mechanic I think it's good.

Thanks!

Wow. The music and graphics were great. I liked how each enemy forced you to fight them differently, and how shooting made you move slower, so you have to switch between shooting and dodging. This game is full of interesting decisions. Also, the camera was amazing. Perfect amount of camera shake, and I liked how it slightly zoomed in while you are shooting. The thing with the upgrades and the skill tree were kinda overwhelming at first. I didn't know what all the upgrades are, and the skill tree was big and scary lol. Maybe you could have introduced each of these elements one at a time to make it easier to digest for the player? Anyway, great game. It was very addicting and a lot of fun!

Thanks! Super cool that you liked it!

The thing with the skill tree was that I wanted the player to get excited and discover new skills as he plays (Even saw a GMTK episode on that!) but I just couldn't get it to click inside my head so at the end I decided to just put it all together in one giant skill tree. I think introducing each item or at least each branch to the player would be great! There is an example I just thought of in a game I took as inspiration. What they did there was instead of making the upgrades into one big skill tree, they just introduced the 2 options, so you had one simple choice: "What do you want: this or that?". That would certainly fit into my game and ease out the skill advancement process!  While thinking about it now I should have at least put up some labels saying what would you achieve by going down a certain branch.

The game is hard, but I kinda of like it! Loved to buy upgrades at the end waves to get prepared for the next one. Good job!

Developer

Thanks! Very inspiring

SOLID arcade shooter. The time mechanic is basically a free reposition as the dummy gets downed easily. Difficult but addicting.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I made the clones have less health than you so you wouldn't overuse them but I am not sure if that was too much... I increased the in-game difficulty cause I really didn't want the player to get through the game really quickly and eventually get bored of playing.  Once again, thanks for the comment - really makes me think that the time I spent on the game was spent well!

Hard not to compare it to the many others of this type. I didn't see anything original really. I also didn't get to any rewind mechanic at all?

I did find it very frustrating that escape returned to the main menu from the buy screen.

Developer

Yeah so holding space rewinds the time. Sorry about the escape thingy - I just didn't have the time to set up more UI for leaving the game. About the difficulty - I was intending for it to be hard so that the player would have to learn more about the game but I myself have noticed while testing it after submission that it was a bit too hard for the regular player (Notice that I have been playing the same thing non-stop for a week so it is only logical that  I started to get really good at it).  I suppose I can't do anything about it now((. Anyway, thanks for the review and if you could, please try it again with the rewind mechanic.

Oh okay! Yeah I got much further with that mechanic, much more enjoyable. Changed my rating :)

Developer

Thanks! Will check your game too but i haven't slept in 30 hours

My game is not as enjoyable! It ended up much more complex and confusing than imagined, and I had to make a lot of changes, really struggled to make it fun, not sure if I succeeded.
