In what way does your game fit the theme?
Rubella is all about teaming up with your fellow virus strains so you can do greater things. The more versions of yourself that you can collect, the more powerful you become!

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, all assets were made by me (minus a few of the sound effects purchased from Splice)

it is a fun game. I love the art and audio. At the beginning of the levels it is pretty boring because you can't see very much and you have to guess where to move, but when you collect more red guys it gets a lot more fun. Also it isn't clear what kills you and what doesn't, like it seems like you should be able to go in the water. Overall it's a fun game though.

Love the art style! And the music is perfect for this. Feels a lot like one of those iO games which is great! And then the mini game thing really breaks it up and keeps it interesting. Just wish there was progression saving haha. Great job!

Watching the stream! :D

A pretty fun game, easy to get the hang of and a friendly, fun atmosphere.

(I think the virus you control is moving faster diagonally than horizontally/vertically, i dont think thats intended :D)

Really like that you start moving faster the bigger you get. I just think that apart from the audio feedback it could use a bit more visual feedback on whats a good and a bad thing, like a subtle camera shake when you get hit by an enemy or something.

I think overall its a pretty good submission. Good job!

Great pixel style. The controls are smooth and the music is nice.

I would like to see some more feedback to the player for when you're "collecting" other virus. Like a little particle effects or screen effect.
Also, I thought it would be cool to have indicators on the edge of the screen showing where the other viruses are? Maybe something as simple as a little virus bubble that sticks to the edge of the screen in the direction of the virus. (Does that even make sense... lol)

Nice job overall. I liked it.

Nice theme and art style! I especially loved the funky music that makes the game seems much more fun. However, it is a bit of a disappointment how death resets everything. But I guess that is the point of the game.

Btw, this is my first game jam, so I would love to hear some feedback from you.

Since you only play web version of games, I have put on an itch page for you: https://dowhep.itch.io/friendshipwithscuffedphysicsweb

Hopefully you would notice me...

The game has a ton of character and charm! The protagonist has a goofy, Muppet-like quality to it, and all the little UI elements, sound effects, and musical fanfares really help with the overall jovial tone.
Some of the gameplay aspects could use a bit of polish though. In the early game, the camera is close enough to the ground that finding buddies takes a while, especially if they happened to randomly spawn in a cluster on another part of the map. The buddies also can traverse terrain that kills the player, so I ended up dying twice running into an obstacle that was visually flagged as "safe" by a creature identical to me standing there.
The soundtrack was excellent, I can't say no to some good funky grooves. And even if the game had a few issues, I just found myself smiling at the goofy level transitions and silly sounds that came with breaking a window or turning into a chainsaw to cut down logs.

Cool Game! The music was really nice. And like what the comment below me said, going diagonal is faster than going straight. And maybe add an outline to all the dangerous obstacles, but thats probably it, Great Game!

I really liked the music and the hammer section. Some criticism would be that finding all of the 20 can be boring sometimes, movement is faster diagonally, and not knowing the water kills you. It was still a fun game especially trying to avoid all of the bugs.

Nice Game! I loved the music and overall vibe! One thing to point out though, is the movement Vectors aren't normalized, so you move twice as quickly diagonally. Otherwise, great game!

I wish I came up with the idea of the camera zooming out. The ants are scary at first, but once you get the ball rolling its pretty easy to avoid them from the far. The minigames between the actual gameplay are a really nice touch. Awesome game, Nice One! haha

A small game with a lot of charm! The use of camera to show character growth was a nice touch!

Very fun game to kill some time! Its easy to understand and nice to play, and the animations and the sounds are smooth, realy liked that.(Specialy because i am horrible at doing transitions on my games :P). Nice game in overall, i just whink it would be better if the other virus didnt walk on places that give damage to the main virus because that realy confused me on where i should and shouldnt walk.

And play my game if you have sometime, i think you gonna like it: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/928164#post-266607

Awesome game.. Really liked it, keep it up! It would have been nice if you increased the Field Of View of the camera.

It looks like Tasty Planet, but with different mechanics. I really liked the interactive transitions, keep it up dude!

This game looks fantastic. The sprites have so much personality, and are very clear in what they portray (even if it a strange, morphing meatball monster) The gameplay is fun as well - reminds me of agario but singleplayer. And, the music is funky.

I liked how there were different gameplay types to interrupt each other. I did encounter a glitch with the hammer that made me have to restart, but I went back and played it again anyways.

Good game :) One thing I would say is make it more clear what can hurt you because I would just run into objects without realising

Great game. I felt like there could have been a few more creatures at the start but I love the art!

pretty fun, I like the level design and the interaction to get into next level. some complaints though:

1. in first level, maybe add more virus at beginning, because at first there are so few and as a new player you get lost what should you expect to do

2. add more clear instruction about what is dangerous and what is not. maybe give all dangerous items a special color/border so it is clear those stuff you should avoid. Otherwise player might get hit something they think should be safe but die.

3. As a not expert player, I would hope to restart level not the whole if I die lol

4. the worm in the first level fliping sometimes and make it harder to avoid them.

But in general I like this game and idea and the art!

Great feedback! Thanks so much!
