In what way does your game fit the theme?
In the game you raise the ants population, and the more you have the stronger you get.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I just did a few assets. But did a bigger part on the coding.

Once I found the ants (which took me an absurd amount of time), it was really entertaining. Good game!

Great concept for a RTS really had a good time playing it. Great work !

Super fun, easy to play, hard to win, RTS game! Usage of theme 5/5. "Automatic pick-up items and leaving the group" system, really nice.

Really nice game with a chill atmosphere, it took me a while to find the ants but once i did it was fun

Sweet game! It was a pretty fun game with a unique concept to boot! The targeting mechanics were pretty impressive, I liked how whenever an ant had picked something up it leaves the group you are selecting, that was a nice QOL feature!

A few things you could improve:

- Add a little targeting indicator that shows the current location the ants are walking towards

- Display how many ants you are currently selecting

- Make the mid-game a bit more varied, I saw the cool boss at the end but in between that would just be a lot of just bringing everything on the map back to your home and that would get tedious

Overall good job! I enjoyed your game

Thanks for playing my game! Any opinion and critics are welcome thank you!

Indeed, it is impossible to tell where a ant is going with just a glance... I used just a small square for the ants for them to feel weak, because of the theme. The lack of a head to know where it is going can be a nuisance. Thanks for suggestion, a little indicator can be good.

Actually, i was going to implement various UI stuff to tell, selection, and stuff like that, but had no time...

The mid-game is kinda tedious because i had not time, sorry...

oh the ant sprites are fine, that wasn't the issue! You know whenever you play an RTS game and target a place on the ground then a little targeting indicator shows up? That's what I meant

No need to apologize, flaws are natural in a game jam, it comes from the time constraint!

Fun game to play! I had trouble learning the controls, but I got the hang of it. I think making the ants more noticeable would help, and a constant UI that tells you how many ants you have. Really cool game!

Man this game was soo sick .

positive point:

-the movement of the ant (soo cute)

-the boss

-amazing music (I mean I literally sing it the whole game)

negative point:

-I don't know till the end of the game that you can kill the purple monstrosity(because they don't have hurt animation like caterpillar)

-score ?(personally I don't bother to reach high because my goal was the boss)

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! Yeah the boss don't have a hurt animation, my intention was to make it look tough, there is only a SFX to show that it is getting hit, it seems it is not enough, thanks for pointing it out!

The movement for the ants i used A* pathfinding project, first time using it, and it is so cool to see them avoiding obstacles haha.

Is it possible to have the music I really like it :)

I really liked the happy aesthetic and the cute theme and animals. It's also pretty impressive how big the map is must have taken some time :)

Neat take on the theme, love the jolly music. Would have liked an option to zoom out to see more but other than that it was fun to play around and explore :)

I was pleasantly surprised by the graphics on the actual game becuase I wasn't really a fan of the main menu screen! It's an interesting game, good job!

  • My biggest gripe is the art. There seems to be a lot of contrasting styles and mixels (mixing different pixel art resolutions) which I believe is due to using art from several different asset packs

  • The music is quite nice - very relaxing

  • It took me a bit to understand the controls

  • I wish you could select several ants at once (I know ‘q’ selects all of them). Maybe something like shift click to select multiple?

  • The way the game counts how many ants there are seems to be a bit buggy: https://imgur.com/a/AJisBmA

  • My highscore is 1500

  • Overall, pretty good! Quite a unique interpretation of the theme and reminds me of a lot of typical .io games

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, i'm not very good at the art, so i used different assets...

To select multiple ants you just need to hold the left mouse button. I think the game is not very intuitive, i"ll try to improve that...

Already tried your game, nice one!

Ah, I didn’t realise. But yeah, I think that needs to be made more clear to the player
