In what way does your game fit the theme?
(I copied and pasted this from my games description)When I think of robots I think of them being put "together" and when they are brand new and stuff they are fresh and at peak condition. My game uses Stronger Together in the fact that when your character is fully assembled together in one piece he will move faster and be able to maneuver around enemy fire but as he gets more broken down that speed decreases and it gets to a point where self destructing is probably your best bet. So by staying together you are literally stronger. You could also argue the enemies being packed up and using their unique weaponry and attack style could make them stronger as well. Its a lot easier to die when you have to focus on a smaller robot dog enemy charging at you while also being fired at from the enemies behind it.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I made all my sprites from scratch. The music was made by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio. I watched a few tutorials from Brackeys and BlackThornProd when I got confused about something but a lot of it I tweaked a bit to fit my games needs.

Pretty fun game! Really good for your first game. It's a little bit tough, enemies and bullets come at you very fast, giving little time for reaction. The dogs especially are really fast, they can also go through walls which I think is not intended. The mechanic of moving slower if you're closer to death could use some polishing. Overall it's a good entry!

Great game!, could use more combat options since it was really just spam clicking and i think maybe it wouldve been a better risk reward to make you faster the closer you are to death or something? but overall really really solid submission and amazing for a first game

Really like it, especially the sound and art! I am not entirely convinced about slowing down when low in life as it kind of prepare us to die without being able to do much.

Nice game! Would be nice if there was a benefit to being low on health because the second my speed decreased I'd just self destruct and tried again. Really cool base though! Those robo dogs gave me Hotline Miami vibes :'D

Dude... Hearing that means the world to me. Hotline Miami is probably one of my favorite topdown shooters and it heavily inspired this game thank you very much for playing!

The spritework, color pallete, and visual/sound effects all work really well together. A simple game but well executed. Great job! And congrats on your first game jam!

Developer

Thanks!

I got a score of 1200 then died. there aren't any problems really. I wish I could see the theme more. The game is hard, which is fine. I feel like the enemies should be blocked off from the start area.

Developer

I explained my view of the theme in the description I understand if it wasnt very obvious but thank you very much for checking out my game I appreciate the feedback!

Nice one. I loved the music, the retro style graphic and SFX which fit well, and your theme Interpretation.

My suggestion:
1. Getting enemy shooting at you outside of camera is a bad game design decision, as a player In order to react to different type of enemies - at least I need to know what situation I'm in.
2. Instead of throwing a bunch of  texts into player at start of the game, try to lead player one by one. I always try to avoid texts when making games. Especially mini game!
3. An animation when you're death would be good!

Developer (1 edit)

I appreciate the detailed feedback!

1. Yes that was something I wasnt really happy with however if I add more content ill definitely add a see further mechanic or maybe just try to avoid offscreen enemies all together.

2. I really wanted to add a trail of text just I felt I was running out of time but I see why avoiding text could be good idea just I really wanted to try and add some sort of plot behind it but it wasnt really that great and probably could have done well without it.

3. I added a explosion that I used on other enemies but I really wanted to make it to where as you took damage your armor would shoot off further showing what I mean by staying together makes you stronger.
