i LOVE this mechanic!! played until i softlocked (i think i somehow threw the scythe out of bounds??) really really interesting stuff you could do here. only real criticisms are that i feel like the scythes hitbox should've been smaller to more closely match what you see on the guide, would've made lining up shots with the bouncy walls feel a little less luck based. and to make it so you could throw the scythe while jumping, feel like there could be some interesting puzzle concepts in that. overall though this was neat! good work :)

this is pretty neat, didn't try very hard to get a high score but i love the originality here. feels like the type of game you can only really pull off in a jam environment and for that i respect the hell outta it. very interested to see what you do next :)

this was incredible! played to completion. really high effort for a 9 day jam. my only real criticism is that it kind of felt like it over stayed its welcome, a lot of the puzzles could've done without a step or 2 as it just starts to feel like busy work at a point. still, i don't see this as a reason to dock any stars! i could totally see this becoming the next big thing all the youtubers play with a full release, all the characters were so charming and cute and the atmosphere was delightfully eerie. great work from all of you!! 20/20

this was really really cool. you don't see such ambitious project like this done in jams much. you really nailed the survival horror vibe and id love to see something similar to this with more in-depth systems, but for a jam game especially this is incredible! no notes 20/20

i adore this! big win xp cd-rom game vibes. i dont really have any notes! from the aesthetics to the gameplay this was a blast, and i got it running on linux too without a hitch. 20/20 :)

i  feel accomplished. no notes this was delightful

the sound effects are a bit jarring and im pretty sure some things were tied to fps that shouldnt have been haha, those robots move fast! ultimately though its an interesting little game and i think you made a good effort :) keep at it!

interesting concept! i quite like the core idea, but i feel like each run has to be shorter for it to work properly. the long level with a ton of enemies in hidden spots means youre getting weaker (or the enemies are getting stronger) really slowly, and in the context of a jam game that means most people wont see much of how the game follows the theme. other than that though! i think youve made something really solid here, the music was bangin and the level design was compelling. keep at it! great work

damn! yeah no notes this'll definitely win at least one of the categories, congratz!

this was incredible! i think the movement and camera are a bit wonky but wow youve really stumbled upon something great here, i could totally see this becoming a full release with a bit of effort and i do see myself coming back to this in future. my main issue would just be that it felt a little easy, i think itd be nice if the player was punished more for not shooting eyes or not having good movement. but overall im in love with this aesthetic and gameplay idea and im excited to see what you do next, whether its this or something else! 20/20 !!

a neat little thing, i think the controls could use some work though, they feel so heavy! the gameplay was quite fun but i feel it could use some variety in enemies and interactions but overall i think you did well enough keeping in mind that it is a jam game, better to have a finished feeling game with a few enemies than a broken one with a ton. i did like how polished all the ui felt as well, really felt like a cohesive package. and the graphics were all so cute! i love how clean everything looked. great work! glad to see other people are making cute  ufo games too haha

woah this was really something!! im surprised i haven't seen more people use the theme like this. the game feels great to control and i love the level design. i think my only criticism is even though its so fast paced, deaths feel a little expensive. its a bit monotonous to get back to where you were especially near the start, but that's just a nitpick! the design was quality in how you slowly gain the powers and learn how to use them in an easy and controlled environment. i was a big fan of that. really great work! excited to see what you do next

this was absolutely delightful! from the graphics to design you really nailed the feeling of the era you're mimicking, feels like a classic from an alternate timeline. insanely good work!!! you should be proud 20/20

haha yeah it's not for everyone, super glad you appreciated some of it though!

this was adorable. really love it when a jam game sticks to one thing and does it really well. absolutely no notes, you crushed it!

this was delightful! dumb fun but thats all it needed to be, my only note would be to make the levels come quicker and have clearer (but shown for less time) instructions. i think full on frantic would make this game peak. ultimately though this was a super silly time and id gladly come back to it. great work!

this is awesome ! super fun

this was delightful. really love interactive little experiences like this, super creative take! jams like these need more narrative focused games, lots of unexplored design space there.

you've made a pretty solid platformer! the graphics work great and the music is good but feels a little dramatic for an abstract platformer haha. my only real criticisms are that the control scheme takes a while to get used to, maybe could do with a tutorial? and it was hard to tell what your intention was on a few of the levels due to the tightness of some jumps and the slow moving platforms that reset on death. but other than that i feel you've made a really solid foundation for something special here, glad you managed to submit!!

cute little game! i wish there were more consequences for getting hit, feels pretty easy to pick yourself back up. a tutorial and more enemy types would've also been nice. that being said, i think this has a lot of promise! theres a surprising amount of depth to the action of stopping to shoot fish while also making sure you're making progress up the ladder. maybe some kind of time-based mechanic would help with that? idk! overall though great work from all of you!

there is something so incredibly charming about this to me. extremely innovative little game. i can't wait to see what you make next!

the last level in particular has a strong emphasis on the size of your hitbox helping/hindering you but i do agree that if i i add more levels to this i gotta focus on it more. i really appreciate the kind words :)

this is so sweet :'), thank you!! ill give your game a shot the moment i'm on a windows pc :)

made it with that exact vibe in mind, my site of choice was coolmathsgames but i think i used friv on occasion. im glad you had a good time with it!

if you do id love to get a link! glad you enjoyed!

if you post it anywhere please lmk id love to see it!! also just realized you were one of the people who made scaleton! i adored that game!

neat little experience! if you made it a bit less "analogue", snappier and added a time limit you'd have a great little arcade puzzler here, but its already real fun to waste time with right now. great work!

pretty damn fun! reminded me a lot of disc room which is absolutely not a bad thing. took me a while to understand the controls but after that i was swingin like crazy. only thing that would've elevated it would be mouse input instead of keys to attack. overall really solid work here, had a great time w it.

not the most unique idea, seen a few of these in the jam so far. but the execution was so incredible that i cant even fault it, great puzzles and gorgeous visual design, great work from you!!

insane!!

fastest time ive seen that isn't mine! the fastest ive gotten was 4:55 if you wanna try for that haha

terrifying! had a lot of fun with this, love the aesthetics. really nothing to note here! great job

honestly? im not sure! i think its a mix of good cover art and ive heard that submitting early is good for the itch algorithm, not an intentional decision on my part though, i only found out about this after the fact. i do ultimately think a lot of it is luck! its good to remember that more ratings doesn't necessarily equal better ratings, one of the top winners last year only had 14 in total. ill happily give your game a shot soon though, it looks fantastic! <3

wow! this is by far the most impressed i've been by a game so far, the slow build up is so incredibly cool. the only thing i can criticize is that i never felt like i was solving a puzzle, but that's me assuming your design intention. and despite that the game still felt so exciting to play, easily my favourite ive seen !!

this was so incredibly clever!!!!! absolute joy to play, 15/15

pretty damn fun! would be an awesome fit on mobile. i ran into a bug a few times where if i fell off the map in certain positions i just wouldnt respawn, but other than that the game ran without a hitch. great work from all of you!!

taking that as the high praise, thats the vibe i always aim for! old newgrounds games are a big inspiration, really glad you had a good time with it !!

pretty fun! i liked the concept and visuals, although the parallax effect was a little nauseating for me and lead to some visual clarity issues, i often felt like i was taking damage because i literally couldn't see the obstacles. but genuinely this has some really fun gameplay underneath that, i'm quite impressed with it! great work from all of you

really enjoyed this! big fan of imprecision/"floatyness" in platformer movement and i dont think that design space is explored nearly enough, really really fun to control. great work

this was delightful, id love to see something similar on mobile. really relaxing and fun, definitely one of my favourites
