The MUSE-SICCKK amazing! Loved this game, though I didn't pass the 3/4th level. I would say it would have been great to have a distinction between dying and passing a level. I thought the game was glitching after passing level 2. Then I realized that if the negative cube passed the positive area it meant an instant failure. Overall interesting mechanics. And again amazing music, great job!

Music is absolutely awesome! SFX are in that cool old-school style, which I really like! Puzzles are pretty good and graphics are nice. That simplistic color palette looks very very nice (especially black guy)! Your idea really fits the theme (duh). Good job!
This game had very familiar mechanics and puzzle elements so figuring out how to solve puzzles was pretty easy. The difficulty came into the gravity mechanic. It wasn't very responsive which resulted in a lot of cheap feeling deaths. The game lacked some polish, but overall the sound fx and graphics were decent. I think possibly pulling the camera vie out some could have helped with knowing where some of the pitfalls would be. A lot of trial and error due to this element.
I streamed it here for more thoughts:
This game was a good puzzle with unfamiliar mechanics. It was a fun puzzler but I kind of got the feeling I played this before. Good design. The graphics seemed a little off with the pallete. Other than that, it was good!
Nice! The level design and the concept is great! I also like the lighting effect!
Suggestions ->
- Many times, the spikes were out of the camera's view so I could not predict where the player would land. You can increase the speed of the camera to fix this issue.
- There is no visual cue to tell if the player is sneaking. You can maybe add a squashing animation to tell that the player is sneaking, this would be a nice detail.
- Add "coyote time" ... since the game is a platformer, I think it would be great to have coyote time. It would make the game slightly easier but I think it would be worth it.
- Player-to-player interaction. You can add a feature in which the white player can jump on top of black player and ride on it when the black player changes gravity. This would unlock lots of new possiblities for new level designs!
- The plain square player sprite can be improved with squash-stretch animations. You can also add particles for when the player dies.
really good platforming game, really like the feeling of the jumps and the control in the air, the levels even though they could use some tweeking on the difficulty aspect in some of them the general design is really well put out, although i really like the jumping I feel like the movement on the ground feels a bit off at times specially when having to move between the spike balls, also most of my deaths were by dangers outside of my point of view because the platforms or the spikes were too far away for me to be able to see I think a way to be able to move the camera around would go great with this game.
Overall really solid platformer great job.
Turns out I still suck at platformers! For real though, this is a really solid entry. I had some issues with the gravity switching (this was in the download by the way) where sometimes it would seem to reset my velocity, and other times it wouldn't. Other than that, it was actually a lot of fun! The graphics are definitely unique in terms of the colour palette which I liked, and the game ran really smoothly. I wish I could have gone further, but as I said, I suck at platformers, so a measly level two will have to do for me! Well done :)
I really like how the two characters have different functions, and it's not just two squares that can jump. The levels seem well-designed and I like the music and the simplistic graphics.
Most of this game's difficulty comes from fighting the controls, unfortunately. The black box's gravity reverse skill in particular is wildly inconsistent. I don't know if there's a cooldown associate with it, but if there is then there should be a visual indicator. Oftentimes I'd press the up arrow and it wouldn't do anything, which led to several deaths by falling or by spike. The jam hitbox is also really misleading - my character would often come into contact with it visually, but it wouldn't pick it up. This happened so many times on level three that I eventually had to give up.
I played this game on the downloadable version, by the way. I suspect the reason why the controls are so inconsistent is because you have a print statement in one of your update loops, which is overflowing the stack and causing some of the inputs to not register.
When the controls did work though, I had a lot of fun. I really would have liked to play the game through all the way, it looked like you had some really fun levels cooked up.
Great game, good puzzles, good mechanics with a challenging gameplay, music and images are simple but good just as needed.
Just think that the difficult curve could be a little better, maybe I'm too bad at it or the game is made to be this difficult, but I feel like the levels at the start at least could be easier so we can be more adapt to the way you drag players to play it.
Overall, very good game, liked it! Congrats!
Awesome music, style, and execution on theme. There is a ton to offer here, and I'm digging it all! I think the controls and difficulty curve could be shored up a bit, but I think you have probably heard that all before. All in all, a great game jam game, one of my favorites!
A really nice game. Love the Music and teh artstyle. The player switching mechanic and teh fact that thay have deifferent movesets are a good idea! Nice Game
Nice Concept, music, mechanics and level design. Only the Gravity-switch of the black player wasn't very responsive. Otherwise, great game!
the game is really hard, and when i play on full screen the game look strechy and wierd.
overall, good job!
Many MANY hours later I have finally finished this game. And it's still fun to mess with. The concept wasn't original but the mechanics were definitely fun and the levels overall were a decent level of challenge (but THAT LAST LEVEL CMON) I'd definitely be interested in seeing more levels though, it was fun. A few finer points:
- Early on the "positive" character felt like it had easier areas than the "negative" character. So I feel like some balancing there would help. Or you could lean into it and vary it up with negative focused levels and positive focused levels etc.
- The "negative" characters gravity kinda threw me off, but it did end up being helpful for getting through some more specific areas meant for him. Which was nice. So I feel like tweaking it only a bit would be nice, not sure exactly how though.
- Difficulty curve was a bit weird sometimes... so tweaking that as well would be nice. But overall, a really polished level design, a near rage inducing last level and a fun overall experience.
If you get more levels, I'll definitely play them. It was really fun to mess with.
Really had a lot of fun with this. The movement feels very polished, and each level add new interesting challenges and mechanics. I was pleasantly surprised each time a new feature showed up like the moving spikes or the bounce pads. I made it to level 6 and gave up, but this is one of those games I want to come back to and try to beat. Great job!
Here’s my game if you’d like to give it a play.
