Very lovely presentation. Mixed feelings about the precision required for the jumps, took me super long to get some of those right. Solid effort!

In what way does your game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme "Stronger Together" because you have to control both a King and Queen that help each other on their way through a dungeon. The King's switches only turn off the Queens lasers, and the Queens switches only turn off the Kings lasers.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all code and made all the particle effects/animations myself.
But most of the art and sound effects were not by me (CC0)

Really good aesthetic, but you need to be really precise with your jumps. The chains swinging when you touch them is a really nice addition.
It's an innovative game. Your game mechanic is great. graphics are appropriate .
But I think the collision box of spikes are frustrating, consider making their collision smaller and also try to avoid precise jumps in level design.
I suppose it would have been better to have the same button for switching king and queen
The absence of music can be felt, but overally I enjoyed it and would like to play an improved version of it in the future. Good job :)
Hey thanks for the feedback! The collision box for the spikes is the exact size of the sprite, and I’m worried that if it were smaller it could cause more issues such as clipping through the sprite. I also couldn’t find any music that went well with the vibe of the game and I didn’t have enough time to make any tracks myself unfortunately. As for the switching buttons, I explained in a previous comment that I honestly don’t have a good reason for not just making it one button. I think I just felt rushed to create the mechanics and accidentally made it more complicated than it needed to be. I appreciate your suggestions and I will for sure take them into account for the future! I’m glad you enjoyed the game :)
The game feel on this is off the charts! I love all the subtle effects like the chain, the level transition, the walking particles, and screen shake. The platforming was a little frustrating because sometimes it seemed like the gaps were slightly too large or that the characters were not jumping the same every time. I was also wondering why you decided to make the switching mechanic across 2 different buttons instead of one.
Cool game and the graphics are awesome (i love the swinging chains). The slippery blocks feel a bit unfair, and maybe they shouldnt be introduced at the end of a level but instead the start. but otherwise great game!
Nice game! Very appropriate game length and difficulty for a game jam. The movement is a little slippery which causes some of the platforming a bit challenging. But the short re-spawn time and small level make up for it. I also like the marine blue monochrome and the cool ripple transition!
The art style is cute and simple. It's quite hard but still very fun!
The art and animations are super slick, and the transition effect is awesome! It's on the harder side, but not impossible, it was a lot of fun to beat!
Really great game, love the art style and sound design and has a ton of polish. Definitely on the harder side but still really fun.
Good platforming game. A little on the challenging side though. Also loved the sounds effects and art style.
Very fun game! I really liked the 1bit style. I used godot too and i need to learn how to do transitions like you did. very nice!
Excellent! Great fun. Normally games with tricky jumps like this get me to quit quite quickly, but I was laughing and swearing a lot during this one. Great game. I enjoyed it a lot. Nice work.
Now... where did I put that Spectrum emulator... ;-)
