Nice game.  Great atmosphere with the combination of graphics and sound.  A couple of the puzzles behaved a bit strangely, but I completed the game, so it worked OK :-)  Nice work.

Thanks :-)  Yes, the missing terrain is something I was working on, but I had to drop that to get the working game submitted on time.  Not much more you can do in a jam when the clock runs out :-)

Thank you :-)  I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I probably spent around a day or so modelling the bird, but that was some time ago.  I rigged it at the time, but it wasn't suitable for the game, so I kept the model and re-rigged it from scratch.  That only took an hour or so, but then I had no end of "fun" trying to work out why it looked fine in Blender, but it's head got all twisted up in Unity.  As you noticed, I eventually found out why :-)  That was the key thing I wanted to achieve by taking part in the jam, so I'm very happy.  The animation blending on the keypress was one of the things I didn't quite get round to, but that's jams.

That's a very nice take on the typing game genre.  Pleasant and non-distracting music and some amusing sentences to work through.

Nice one.

Great idea and looks really nice.  Thanks for the volume controls :-)

I couldn't control the action at all, but it was fun to watch.

Great graphics, great sounds and great sense of humour :-)

Good work to get all that done for the jam.  Nice one.

:-D  Good sense of humour and a funny game.  Nice one.

I remember one of the most popular early websites (before search engines were a thing) was called PigeonKickers.  The game reminded me of that, even thought they're blackbirds ;-)

Nice game.  Fast enough to be tricky, but not so fast it's impossible (to start with :-) )

Good work for the jam :-)

I'm not familiar with your inspirations for this game, so I had no idea what was going on.

It looks nice though and the music and SFX were good.

Graphics and SFX were good.  The music was a bit repetitive.  I finally got to the moon, but no success message was a bit disappointed after all those failed jumps.

Good concept, nice graphics and fun (if simple) music.

Not sure what happened on the second level, but the first time I got there, it killed my browser.  It might have been because I bounced left and right a few times before I clicked on something.  Or it might just have been my browser :-)

Obviously, more levels would have been good, but I'm sure you know that :-)

Good game for the jam.

I liked the game concept and the presentation, but the controls weren't good.  The strange combination of space and up arrow was awkward.

The music and graphics were great.

That was fun :-)  It took me a while to catch a rain drop, only to realise that they kill you :-D  LOL.  Nice balance of speed and movement and well presented.

Not a bad game.  Looks great with the nice background and good cartoony graphics.  The music is also OK, but the gameplay needed a bit more work.  I can't say for certain, but it looks like the difficulty topped out after I collected about 20 coffee beans.  Some more dropping objects would be good to keep things interesting.  You could keep increasing the speed too.  Perhaps with a bonus drop that slows it down a bit.

Just some thoughts :-)

It's a good game for the jam.  I'm surprised it hasn't had more comments/ratings.

Thanks :-)  I'd like to have done more, but jam-time always ends too quickly :-)

Thanks :-)  The missing terrain seems to be a bit a major drawback.  I have the terrain game object in the editor, but it's disabled because I didn't get the time to implement it properly.  Ah well.  Game jams... :-)

Thanks :-)  Yes, a restart option might not be a bad idea.  If you miss a gate and drift off into the distance, it can be a bit frustrating to try to find your way back.  Restarting might be a more attractive option at that point :-)

That was surprisingly (almost annoyingly) good and playable.  It took a little while to get into it, but then I couldn't stop.  I needed to get guaranteed kills on foxes and that meant I had to keep playing until I got to Claws level 9!

Very good game.  If the prey options kept going (sheep, deer, moose :-) ?), then it could have a lot or replayable value.

Profitability: 6

Claws: 9

Eyes: 9

I was a complete killing machine by the end of that :-D

Nice graphics, good pacing, very slightly annoying eagle scream, but that's part of the game.

Great work!

Nice cute graphics and smoothly animated.  The music was good and making the gameplay fit to that time was a nice move.

I would definitely have liked to have seen a wider range of animated obstacles.  Perhaps some hot air balloons or other birds.  But a jam is a jam and you only have time to do what you do :-D

Nice :-)  Very cute graphics, nice music and funny sound effects.  I bet you looked funny recording those :-)

Good work.

Good concept and quite fun to play.  I can't add much to the comments you've already received because you've answered them well :-)  I also had the bird leave the screen, but I worked out that if you try to rotate back, the background movement can be used to work out which way you're flying.  It's only a real problem if you've gone too far off screen.

I think I'm suffering from a caffeine overdose after that! ;-)

Nice game for the jam.  Good music, nice sound effects and good graphics.

I was so relieved that the coffee machines didn't start breaking down.

Thanks :-)  Yes, the scene certainly needs more in it.  The gates are always "north" on the map, so if the bird in the minimap is facing up, you should be able to see the next gate (providing you're not too high or too low or have flown past it already :-D ).  Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks :-)  I got a bit stuck with some issues between rigging animations in Blender and the way they worked in Unity.  If I hadn't spent all that time trying to sort it out, there would have been quite a few more features.  But the key thing is that my goal for the jam was to rig a model in Blender for animation in Unity and get it working.  I (eventually) learned what I need to :-)

Thanks :-)  I think one of the best things about all the feedback I'm getting is the everyone just wants more!  That's really great!  Thank you so much :-)

Thanks :-)  Yes, I had that odd feeling with the gates appearing to rotate too.  I think the lack of background/landscape wasn't helping there.  It was on the list and there was a half-finished terrain object in the game, but I hadn't got that working.  Great feedback.  Thanks again.

Thanks :-)  There's always plenty more that could be done ;-)

Thanks :-) I have a list of things I would liked to have added (see one of the comments below), but it's a jam, so hey... you do what you can :-)

Thanks :-)  I guess it's really just another flappy bird alternative, but given my avatar, the jam's theme made the idea pop for me.

Thanks :-)  There's always more you can do to a project and jams just highlight that :-)

Thanks :-)

The bird is modelled in Blender with a "Wireframe" modifer applied to the edges.  This gives them a bit of thickness instead of just being lines.  Then there's a green metallic shader for the main surfaces and a silver metallic shader for the wireframe parts.

For a first game, that's not bad.  The animation on your bird was very nice.

The beach looked OK, but you probably want to create seamless tiles to avoid the lines between them.

The controls were alright (just A and D?), but the way you applied the acceleration was a bit awkward.

I'm not sure I found any chips, but I also had that problem where it jumped back to the start screen after a dive.

Keep developing games though.  What you made looks really nice.

It's a bit unfinished, but I can see where you were going.

LOL :-)  Fun game to play, but some success criteria would be more satisfying :-D

I was sorting for ages there before I got sacked for being rubbish :-D

It looks very nice and I sympathise with a major fail in the middle of a jam.  That's harsh.  Will you be updating it here with gameplay enabled?  Before the judging deadline?

That was a different one, thanks :-)

It took a couple of rounds to get the fact that you have to keep an eye on your health as well as balancing attacks.  Not to mention paying attention to whether you're asleep or not!

Still, I got to level 4 with 78 experience, so I don't think I did too bad :-)

Nice work for the jam.

Some nice graphics, but quite frustrating to play.

Like quite a few other games in the jam, this one needs more space for the playing area, so that you can see what's going on.  It's a bit too difficult to catch the good items and miss the damaging ones.

Having said that, you completed a game and that is always an achievement in a jam! :-)

Very interesting game.  I like the games in this jam that made me laugh out loud, but this one made me "Ah!" out loud a few times :-)

Some nice puzzles all wrapped up in there.

Nice game and works well in the jam theme and limitation.

I'd agree with Gatlink that the playing area could be a little bit bigger.

Thanks for adding the controls choice.  Arrow keys seem so old fashioned now and I'd much rather use WASD :-D
