What theme do you wish/you expect to get?

As a newbie in game development, i love learning unity, and i think joining Gamejams really helps to speed up the learning process (this is my first gamejam, so i am a bit nervous, but super excited). I expect something that could be easy to make for people like me, but it can also be a fun interesting challenge for more experienced people. A theme i would love to see is something like "DREAMS".It would allow the creators to think freely, because dreams have no rules and each person has their unique dreams.

I think a more constraining theme would be better. Constraint improves creativity !

I am also a newbie but it will better if we get a futuristic theme because I like futuristic games in my opinion it should "Technology".

I'm hoping for a theme that affects gameplay NOT story.

I think the theme should be abstract so it can be interpreted in different ways. and PS. it is my first jam too :)

i think an island theme would be cool

I want the theme to be Happy, so that we can do anything that makes us happy 馃槉. I'm also new to game development and I think I'll join even if I have limited knowledge. There are still 13 days so I can still finish the create with code series in unity.

summer ocean makes me happy :)

I would like to have a maybe something parkour related for the jam. I am pretty good at making things like that.

Any vague theme that is compatible with any genre without having to make far-fetched interpretations sits well with me.
Now if we want to go into specifics, I love goofy stuff and themes that allow for immediate, fast-paced fun. If you can make a super nervous quake like with that theme, you've already got me on board.

One-word themes tend to be the MVP in that regard, from my experience.
By contrast, I find the absolute worst "themes" to be not themes but mechanics/concepts (especially those that try too hard to be subversive). You know, the kind of things that populate about 70% of ludum dare theme slaughter pools like "you are the enemy", "less is more" etc.

EDIT: That said, this jam has a history of having great themes so I'm resting easy :)

i would like if it was about something retro, becuse im not that good at drawing, but maybe i can do good pixel arts

i messed up my name

I hope you鈥檒l be happy with the themes we have pre-selected. Theme voting will start in about a week!

Where can we see these

(this is my opinion by taking some of the suggestions on this post) I want something vague and short, that can fit any genre.
Someone suggested happiness, that gave me the idea of emotions which i think would be pretty cool!

In the past the themes have been things like "rewind" and "holes", which offers lots of room for creativity. I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement of the themes for this year!

honestly something retro would be pretty nice

i really want a chef theme lol :)

I hope the theme is Portals. I know that's oddly specific but it just sounds like a cool theme! Whatever it is I will still be VERY excited! It's my first jam so hopefully it goes well.
