I Mostly Use scratch to make Games, so I'm asking If We can Use scratch

I don't know for sure, but the rules say you can use any game engine so I think it counts. Best of luck on the jam.

Scratch ain't a game engine yk, It is one of that WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) programs that act like game engines but they actually aren't.

I think it is an engine and it isnt one

even through scratch isn't a game engine we can make anything with it if we know how to do it and i will prove it

we know that bro

I don't really know. But you should convert it to HTML5 and see if it runs.

I'm pretty sure I once saw a scratch game in a game jam. Dunno what they did but yeah. Also, I really advise you to check out Unity, Unreal, or other game engines! They have a bit more power than scratch and aren't as hard as they look.

ok! thanks for the advice!

use unity

Godot is a beginner friendly engine and its really good! Its not as complicated as the others.

you are right

you can use any engine you want

i have used this before

If you can run it as a stand alone build i think it can be entered into the jam

you can use any engine, language, or framework

Hey! Are you going to be participating in the Brackeys Game Jam?

Can't wait to see what you make this time

also if you make a devlog of your game, please show mine(just press [X] on the title screen then type N8dev)

i think we can use scratch

i also use scratch to make all of my games

ya..I think u can use scratch..but it will be better if u use engines like unity, unreal..godot....etc

There is also a visual scripting in both unity and unreal...

but unity is very cpu intensive

i have it but never used it before

Unity isnt that hard to run i worked on it on my laptop with uhd graphics and it worked fine.

ur laptop is good my linux laptop is potato

Try Urp and the new gpu based particle system. You get pretty decent fps, even on a weak laptop.

ok i will

also im bad at unity

Most likely no because you cant export games from scratch as far as i know.

You can certainly use scatch.

If you're just starting to learn how to make games I'd suggest taking a look at Godot.

It's a bit easier to get started with (in my opinion) than other engines and it's especially good for 2D games.

gow dot

Hi from the btp3 game jam where you made that masterpiece! Pretty excited for what you will make for this jam!

Thanks for the kind words 馃槃

We'll see if I have time to put something together. Sometimes while I'm prototyping I just can't seem to find an idea that clicks and I don't end up submitting a game.

Good luck with the jam!

You can make the game then save it as a webgl

technically it's not a game engine. But you can Make a game engine using scratch

I'm pretty sure you can. It says you can use any framework or game engine. You can download the project.

So Xamuil2  use scratch on his game jam so good luck

don鈥檛 think so, because two reasons

1. It鈥檚 not really a game engine

2. You can鈥檛 submit scratch projects to itch
