I appreciate it!

Thank you! I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the steam.  All music/sound FX were made by me so that is very strange.

The game is full of heart! I love the cozy but somewhat mysterious art style, everything reflects the idea of dementia in a comforting yet ominous way. Not to mention the quantity of animations and art is impressive. The VFX and attention to detail with subtle changes sold the effect further.  Some UI animations and graphics would immerse the player further into the game and make it more personal. Well put together, powerful message!

Always great to see you back! https://coding-kricket.itch.io/sunny-street

Nice score! Thank you for all of the feedback, I really appreciate  the time you spent on reviewing. The bombs touching was in fact a personal choice (in fact it was kind of a pain to add). I thought it would add another level of strategy but it seems to have only made the game more confusing especially due to the game's simplicity. I'm going to be honest, my UI system was a bit of a mess and I didn't have the patience to clean it up, (I may update it after the jam however). Thank you again for playing. I will have to return the favor to you!

Am looking for feedback in all directions to improve the game! https://coding-kricket.itch.io/sunny-street

Graphics are wonderful and gameplay is incredibly tight. The game was punishing yet always felt fair. I love the panda's design and the barrel sprite. Had a lot of fun!

The bombs felt nice to throw and the graphics gave the game a lot of character. The flying mechanic was well executed. It would be helpful if the bomb had a visual radius so the player could get a feel for when they would take damage. The level progression was nice and the map design led to some fun moments. I enjoyed the music too. I loved the players hat flip animation. Great submission!

The procedural generation was what really sold the game in my opinion. This game has a TON of potential. The ball mechanic was executed really nicely. I think it would be beneficial to have a little popup in the menu when hovering over a ball to see its effects. The art was cohesive and strengthened the games presentation. I would love to see this expanded upon!

Loved the music! Controls felt smooth and environment was well crafted. I could see this expand into a metroidvania of some sorts. The game felt complete and polished and I would love to see this developed further!

The gameplay is very satisfying, the sound effects and screen shake give it an extra boost. I liked the little story, definitely added personality to the game. The sprites have a fun style and say a lot about the character. Great work on the music too. You should be proud!

I enjoyed the variety of minigames. Each one was similar yet never got repetitive. The game's progression felt a little slow at first but definitely picked up for a good run time.  I found the gameplay smooth and thought the idea was clever. Fun submission!

Anyone who has a browser game with 0-2 ratings I would be happy to bump that number up!

I love the visual style and sound effects. The game sets up a relaxing environment and I enjoyed the laid-back thinking. I like the way cabinets opened by hovering with the mouse, the little things definitely make a difference. Wonderful experience!

Short and sweet! The art style felt cozy and refreshing and the gameplay was both satisfying and had a perfect challenge level in my opinion. The grades after each level were a nice touch.  I loved the subtle humor and could see the storyline expanded with new mechanics. Great presentation!

Great use of the theme! I enjoyed the fast-paced multi-task gameplay of defending and aiding the bike's journey. The calming setting fit the music well and the art really fit the game's identity. The bike's movement was well designed and felt fair to the player. If you are to continue development, more sound effects and shaders would be a nice touch! Congratulations on your first game, it was well put together!

I loved the art style, animations and idea. The task of trying to survive while fueling your shield leaves for some interesting and tight gameplay. The little details like the menu screen and bakckground art really make the game feel alive!

A vintage-cartoon inspired frantic defense game!

Odd... The cannonballs blow up when colliding with each other. Maybe you are redirecting cannonballs to the cannons themselves and when a cannon goes off at the right moment the game ends?  The screen should zoom in around the cause of death whenever you die so that may explain the deaths too. Thanks for playing!

Since the Jam is officially over, I would love to hear developer's experiences. What went well? What didn't go well?

I found this jam as an excellent starting point into vector graphics and had a ton of fun coming creating vintage-style music It was also my first time participating with Godot which I am finding to be a lot more suited to my needs compared to Unity. I felt like  I met my time constraints pretty decently and avoided the extreme pressure I sometimes get in jams. I have come across some well thought out games and clever takes on the theme and am excited to see more.

Hope you enjoy! https://coding-kricket.itch.io/sunny-street

Thank you for playing! The reflection in the pond is in fact the ending. Yeah, there are plenty of bugs as this game was made under a time constraint. Optimization was a big focus while making this game and I am glad your computer could run it smoothly. I will have to check out your game!

Thank you! Cinamachine was a big help with this project.

Thank you! This jam was an amazing learning experience, especially with the art style. I'm glad the checkpoints helped.

Thank you!

Thank you! Yup, it's a lot harder than it comes off to be.

Thank you!

Thank you! Unfortunately, I couldn't think of an idea for the entire first day, so I had to come up with something since I started a day late, it's pretty loose, but I wanted to get something finished. 😅
