In what way does your game fit the theme?
Chaotic magic radiates from the top of the tower, transmuting everything it touches; from the tower's brick and mortar to your own body.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code was written by me.
Most of the assets were created from scratch by myself, except for the music, and sound effects. Credits in the description.

Wow this is so confusing!

The graphics look beautiful. The polish is unbelieveable!

Very good and fun game perfect to kill some time!

Amazing game. This is the only game I have played sofas far that left me questioning my sanity.

When you said tampering the controls, I have to say, I never thought it would be like this.

The game was so chaotic, I couldn't stop myself from giving 5/5 for the theme.

Well done.

Ps: is there actually no top of the tower

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that

Ps: there's probably is no top of the tower...I think...

One of those rare games I have given 5*ers all the way. You have made a really fun game , it is easy to play and hard to master and remains enjoyable instead for frustrating even when the controls are switched around. I love the epic music which goes great with the game's magical dungeon vibe.

Also great job on making the tiles spawning random, really makes every game feel different. I tried my best to get a 1000 score, hehe.

Wow...this is like the most perfect/ideal comment I could have hoped to receive. You touched on everything that I worked hard on, including the procedural level generation. You even posted your score! You've made my day. Thank you! =D

It was my pleasure bro :D and I wish everyone would do this instead of commenting nice game or generic one liner comments.

Thank you as well for making a kick ass game, I really really enjoyed my time playing it, also had a moment of reflection while playing your game where I found myself thinking "huh.. games are supposed to be fun."

Additionally, If you've seen Naruto, it felt a bit like when Kabuto is battling Tsunade and his nerves are briefly disrupted in the fight, forcing him to swiftly adjust to manipulating other portions of his body in order to make the necessary fighting movements. In some ways, I felt like Kabuto when the controls in your game changes.  This video skips a bit but the reference at 3:38 mark if your interested.

Far out, that really warms my heart. As someone who is primarily a programmer I only recently had the revelation that games should be fun. I watched these GDC talks about game feel (e.g. JW from Vlambeer talking about screenshake) and it really cemented the idea of fun and the player experience.

Yooooo OG Naruto! I definitely remember that fight. That's such a good analogy

Great concept! Though I feel like you can go further with it, but still this is a great game, great job!

Developer

Thank you! I definitely agree. I had a bunch of other ideas for platforms, enemies, and level progression, but I had to cut them in order to finish on time. What are some things you would like to see if I did a post-jam update?

Submitted(+1)

I loved the look of this game. The jump felt crisp and the landing was cool. I think if you expand on this idea and add more for the player to do, it would be lovely. Since the player has a staff equipped I wanted to cast spells! Great game, I enjoyed it.

Developer

Thank you for the comprehensive feedback! There seems to be interest, so I'll be looking at optimising the game, fixing some bugs and adding more features after the jam is over :)

Submitted(+1)

The jumping felt really good, but I couldn't ever get my lil' guy to move left or right. (He just kind of jittered? I don't think that's supposed to happen, it looks like everyone else could play fine.) The graphics and atmosphere were great, and I thought the control switching was fun.

Developer

Thanks! Did you press or hold the keys down? Did you use WAD or the arrow keys? It could potentially be a fringe bug, which would be good to know about.

Submitted

I used WAD, and generally I'd hold the keys down but I'm pretty sure I tried both.

Thanks for playing our game. Yours was visually well done, really hard because of the control chaos (so on theme) & fun to play because it was a challenge to get it right.  I hope you carry on with your creative ideas! Good luck in - between the fun.

Developer

Thank you 🙏 I'd love to see more whacky games from you too!

Super hard but I enjoyed it! the artstyle looks like there was a lot of effort put into it and I always appreciate that in small games.

Fun little game, very well done! <3

Developer

Thank you! Your words are too kind ☺️

nice game, sound and music fits really well with the game

Developer

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for the music, but I found the track almost as soon as I started looking. Very lucky!

Hard but fun game, good job!

Developer

Thanks, appreciate it!

Submitted(+1)

Fun game, and I really liked the graphics. It was pretty hard though, especially when the controls are reversed.

Developer

Thanks! Even after 6 days of playtesting, I was still terrible at the game lol

Submitted(+1)

Very hard... but fun. Good job.

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Graphics, audio, game play are all great! never played a game where this was the core concept. really hard!

Developer

Thank youuuu!

Submitted(+1)

the to bad that the controlls feel so wonky because this game has some really nice visuals, it really help the game look more polished

Developer

I really appreciate that. This project was my first time trying out vector art, so it's reassuring to hear that it looks nice :)

Submitted(+1)

no prob, give a visit to my jam and give me your opinion, it helps, thanks man

Submitted(+1)

The control changes do match the theme but makes the game waay too hard for me :( I think without the changes to the control itself the game is really good.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, I definitely understand where you're coming from.

What do you think about the control swapping being temporary? After a set time the controls swap back to normal?

Submitted(+1)

Very nice cool chaotic game. When the controlls swaped i felt like im first time playing a game

Developer

Even after 6 days of playtesting this game, I don't think I was even close to mastering the controls ><

Submitted(+1)

Really nice idea!

Developer

Cheers!
