How does you game fit the theme?
You're able to turn unreal, which prevents you from being hit.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I made the art and code from scratch and used a royalty free program for the sound effects

Yo dude! Nice and cool retro feel! Like the visuals and the minimalistic 8-bit audio! I dont know if the gravity was intended but I guess you just forgot to untick gravity for the rigidbody. Nevertheless, it was fun! One point of improvement: You might make the projectiles donut(map borders) as well. If you shoot downward and they dont appear on the other side, its somewhat counterintuitive compared to the players behaviour!
Great submission regardless :)
You can play/rate our game here -> https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1420718 After the voting ends, we publish the 1.1 Version with bugfixes and improvements :) Thanks!

Cool game, great effort, Rated
can u check out my game too? it'd be a huge help ;) https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1418965
Simple fun, a classic game! One innovation being that, unlike the original, it has gravity. Are we close to some sort of planet? Small feedback is that the score was just out of screen for me.
Really good game! Simple but good looking visuals, nice sound effects and the creative idea to turn unreal. Really cool! The movement was a bit difficult to getting used to but in total a really nice game!
Would you like to try out (rate) my game too? Would be really nice ;D
Good start, keep it up on your game dev journey!
Thanks
The game looks really nice, love the glow. However, the controls are not really working for me so I was unable to play much. Nice audio by the way!
With some more work on it I think it's a solid game. Great job!
I would love to have you playing mine too, if you don't mind of course! ^_^
Thanks, glad you like it, sorry about the controls.
Solid game, not sure how it fits the theme though
Thanks, the link is weak but it was meant to be that the player could turn unreal. Very weak i know
Great Work, I Rated it!, can you help me with my jam entry?, It would really make my day if you rate mine too!
Thanks in advance!
Here's mine!!!: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1415313
love the visual style, but can't play the game, controls just doesnt work for me. Im on windows.
That's unfortunate. I don't know why the controls don't work.
Congrats on your first game. Please continue your journey. I didn't quite see the theme but the game had a great look and feel. It was a bit fast out of the gate but that could've been a player issue.
Thanks, the link to the theme wasn't that good, and looking at feedback probably made it too difficult. Next time I'll get people to playtest.
Yea, I intend to get some more play testers for our next attempt. More and sooner. (:
Cool! A fun well polished experience with good mechanics. I'm not personaly a fan of the gravity combined with screen-wraping, but it did help me get out of some dangerous situations. Good job!
Thanks, probably made the gravity too strong
Nice job! The flying controls reminded me of an old school lunar lander game.
Thanks, that's what I was going for.
Very fun and very chaotic, asteroids at its finest!
Thanks glad you enjoyed
This is fun! The meteors were satisfying to destroy. I also liked phasing in and out of reality to be able to avoid the meteors. One thing I would've liked was instead of having gravity, maybe having the bullets push the ship back. Otherwise, great work.
Thanks, enjoyed improving the game feel. Definitely, an interesting idea for the shoot to move may look into it in the future.
Very fun game! the control is very hard to get a hang on so I just go to the side and hope there is no asteroids :]
Thanks, probably got too used to the controls myself so I made it too difficult
Wow the post processing is cool, but I guess it's a bit too much (i get pretty confused seeing it, hehe). Also when I hit play I immediately kind of falls down and hit by asteroids (I'm not ready for that), maybe an player input to start the game would be neat (like in flappy bird and pretty much other games out there). Btw it looks sick, tho
Thanks, I tried to capture the retro feel with post-processing but looking back at it I may have gone overboard. Also, I'll implement a touch to start for future games.
This is extremely good for your first game, good work! Is there gravity enabled or something? The ship kept tryna go down. Also there is a big white line in the middle of the screen.
Thanks, gravity is enabled to prevent the player from staying in place probably should have made it clearer that it was intentional. The white line is a consequence of the trail render as it follows the player when screen wrapping so it draws a long line I couldn't find a solution but I felt like it was missing something without the trail.
It is really fun and I incurable spin on asteroids but it doesn't fit the theme well
Happy that you enjoyed it. I started off with an idea that fit the theme where some asteroids weren't real and you would have to check with your mouse. But then, as I played more, I just slowly changed it to what it is. I know the theme is questionable, but I thought I should still share my game with others despite the vague link to the theme.
fun game and really liked the Asteroids inspiration. I also liked your new unreal mechanic. Great job on your game!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it ur game was great too. It really helped to satisfy that feeling for when you want to poop on someone's head.
It's Asteroids alright. Well, it's not bad, but why the falling down thing? Shouldn't the ship not have any force applied when not thrusting? Aside from that, the visuals are good and the audio is juicy, so good job on that front
Glad you enjoyed the visuals and audio. With the falling down thing, I think it added more depth as I found that without it you could just stay in one area but with it, you have to move about, and regaining control of the ship after you're just spiraling adds more fun or at least I think so.
