How does you game fit the theme?
Our level design was heavily inspired by the theme "It is not real".

An illusionist has trapped you in a labyrinth that forces you to question the very nature of your reality.
You will have to put aside what you think you know, because nothing is as it seems. It is not real.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Almost entirely, yes. The only exceptions are the following:

* The skybox for the maze (which is largely not visible in the game) was a free asset that 5hadowduck found on the Unity asset store.

* SpellMender spent two weeks before the jam working on the player movement and camera code. The scene at the end of the game was developed by him during that time.

* The grass and tree objects found in the final scene were free on the Unity asset store.

* While a lot of the animations were derived from Mixamo all of the models are original.

Hi!

Awesome concept. I enjoyed the maze, although as I was crossing walls and jumping from one point to other, I started to wonder if it was just a bug or if I was going the right way. Either way, great effort! Congrats !

If you can, take a look at our game as well. I'd be glad to get your feedback.

That was fun! I enjoyed the illusions and got pretty lost while playing the game. But it was fun so I managed to escape the maze. The only downside I saw is that the camera control was a little awkward sometimes but the graphics and sounds were really well made. I especially liked the small sound cues when an illusion appears or a new path is unlocked. Congrats on completing this game and keep up the great work!

Really creative idea! The environmental changes were a bit roughly transitioned so it made me feel lost at the moment - but that was the point of the game jam so nice job! :)

Really neat mechanics. The background music was on point with the rest of the environment. Props to you and your team 🎉

I'm glad you liked our game! You should also try Vampire Office. Our whole team loves their game, and its their first jam!

Really fun game,  and utilization of the theme,

The camera clips on walls sometimes, so fixing that would be nice,

Running around through the maze not sure if you've been there before or what's real and what isn't puts some frustration on the players but I guess that's the goal of the theme😂

Good work!

the graphics were very nice, i like this style. Also music added up well for the ambient.
Also the nice touch with eye items, which would reveal the reality

Nice game but it could have been better if the camera doesn't go through the walls.

Nice concept, though the maze felt like the tutorial level to a longer game. I liked the idea of picking up 'sight' objects that reveal the true nature of parts of the maze - it was reminiscent of Soulblazer and Illusion Of Gaia in that respect. I think adding a health meter would have improved it as I wasn't sure how many times I could be attacked.

(Also, it worked in browser a lot better than I expected!)

I Had a lot of fun traversing the maze, it wasn't too hard so thank you for that XD being able to attack the illusionist and make him disappear was a really nice touch. I think it was missing a boss battle with the illusionist or something. but really well done for a week.  I streamed it live here StreamerWho - Twitch 2 hours 55 ish minutes in the vod if you want to watch me play your game and hear some of my other comments XD

Pretty cool game. Needs a bit of work on the sound part but it's a cool game with very few bugs. Congrats on delivering a product!

Good Game... I wasnt able to play much because of not optimised for low end pc .still good efforts

Developer

Sorry to hear you had issues with it running on your pc. I built a fair amount of it on my laptop so I figured it wouldn't be too taxing. In the future I'll be sure to go a bit easier on effects. I'm assuming it was probably the torches combined particles and lighting, since nothing else was really computing heavy.

Rated !, very intriguing game!, could use some wall animation tho, it gets confusing sometimes XD
but all in all, good job!

would you kindly help rate mine too?

We originally had some animations of the walls fading in but seems like they broke in the final build.
BTW, really liked your game, it was very well done.

The game ran really well! Props for taking the risk on the premise. The premise presented some challenges when combined with the 3rd-person camera. Felt a little jarring and almost frustrating when it wasn't clear how much progress was being made. Theme was 10/10!

Developer

Glad you liked the theme! It was fun designing all the assets for it. Wish we had more time to flesh out mechanics and progression just a little more those seem to be the biggest gripes. We'll definitely update those if/when we decide to expand on the game farther.
