High Concept

Full Moon: A Werewolf’s Tale is a 2D top-down shooter bullet hell game where you play as Fanatal, a lycanthrope trying to escape The Count’s castle after being captured by the townspeople. Fight your way through the castle using your gun against unreal magically controlled enemies such as gargoyles and sets of armor and break into a rampage after obtaining your wolf powers from the moonlight.

------------------------

We based our design decisions on the following definition of the word unreal:

"so strange as to appear imaginary; not seeming real."

The game is about a werewolf, a shapeshifting creature, meaning that they do not look real at once, as what they show as first glance is a human form, while their true nature is that of a beast.
We are also putting our main character inside a castle controlled by magic as he is being attacked by possesed armor stands and rock gargoyles.

I wished for more bass in the shooting sound, faster bullets and a bigger impact of being a werewolf! And still: This game is fun! I liked it much and it became frantic quite fast and it was so cool to play. :-)

I had a fun time with this one! I like the idea of regenerating health as you untransform from being a werewolf.  I thought the art for the main game look really nice, and the enemy design was pretty unique. I also really dug the lighting effects for the moonlight.

The shooting worked pretty well, but I found myself unable to move and shoot at the same time. Otherwise, though, the bullet hell mechanics were well implemented. Another critique that I have is that the shooting sound was way too loud, which became a problem when I had to start shooting constantly.

But overall, this was a great little game that I had a good time playing. Congrats!

Great work on this. I love the concept of turning into a werewolf under certain conditions. The graphics were also really impressive - especially the art at the end.

Only criticism I have are that the sound was kind of bad and some of the enemies had too much health. The shooting sound was really grating on the ears, and there was a certain part of the background music that was really loud and strange. As for the health, I know it was to make the game challenging, but it was actually pretty easy because I kept getting my health restored as a werewolf without even realizing it at first. I think the best way to make this game better would be to improve the sounds, add another weapon, and change the perk that you get when turning into a werewolf.

Thanks and great job!
