Loved the music on this one, i'd litteraly just parkour around to keep the music going!
The ladders were kinda glitchy and it took me a bit to figure out you can jump on the obelisks

Great job on this game!

The ladder felt uncomfortable to use and it wasn't clear that the pillars were platforms. It would be nice if the ladders had different physics or longer and if the top part of the pillars had a different hue to signify that it was a platform. Overall, the game was fun and the atmosphere was great.

Glad you got the page up and running in the end ;)

thank you again for playing my game on stream. seeing others enjoying something you created is such a great thing.

I agree  with Neropatti, the music was great. I fell down quite a few platforms because I was trying to jump in sync with the beat haha!

I got stuck on a ladder in I think the 4th(?) level. the one that is a bit longer. my character couldnt reach the top. maybe I just failed, who knows ^^

But until that I had fun. the visuals are really cute and I love the color theme!

Developer

Thank you for playing and your feedback! The ladder was indeed a tricky thing, by playing around with getting off and on the ladder mid air it will be possible but not intended to be like this. Thanks! :D

Love the music and art style this has! Still has a few issues tho, mainly the camera is too low and the music resets every time a new level starts

Thanks for playing and the feedback! :D

First of all, if you guys also composed the music, good job! I was jamming out to the “game over” tune while writing this :) I also do like the whole Atari-vaporwave aesthetic you have going on. Cool stuff.

Post-jam fixes I would love to see, in order of importance:

  • Move the camera up a bit, makes a big difference on how the game looks

  • Have the music not restart on level change

  • Remove wonkiness from ladders (couldn’t climb them up smoothly all the time)

  • Iron out the soft-locks

  • Fix Z-fighting

I didn’t know where to place warp portals on that list, nor do I know what to say about them. They kind of just feel like an arbitrary addition.

All in all, this game has a few issues, namely the camera being too low & the music restarting, that prevent this game going from “It’s fine” to “This is really impressive!” for me. Those are mainly technical issues, mind you.

If you end up coming back to this game for some post-jam love, please let me know!

neropatti - thank you so much for the time invested into leaving this useful feedback.

I believe Aiceplays has indeed made the music, all credits to them for that.

I have learned a new term from your feedback, Z-fighting. Now i know what it means. This was my first 2D game and only post submission did I find out about the built in Unity 2D Layering system, Sorting and Order in Layer. Oh well, you live - you learn.

But yeah, going forward I'm sure to keep in mind your feedback and try and avoid these issues in the future projects :D

Cheers!

the first soft is beateable when you press s
