How does you game fit the theme?
You have a teddy bear that helps you out.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I've made all assets from scratch, but the movement script is a tweaked version of a movement script I've made in another game.

I enjoyed the game's dramatic lighting, but there were times when it was so black that I literally couldn't see anything and I died. I don't mind the audio's simplicity all that much. Also excellent is the theme's rendition. Would you be intrested in rating or playing my game? It would really help me out, but dont worry if you dont want to, its completely up to you :)

Very good take on the theme! Good job!

Cool concept and nice implementation! Levels felt varied with different objects and mechanics. I definitely felt alone whenever I had to leave my teddy bear somewhere! Jump felt a bit floaty but that really wasn't a problem since it's a puzzle game and not a platformer. It also took me a few times to "master" the throw-an-object-down control (I kept pressing E and then the down arrow, instead of pressing down the down arrow and then using E…). But those are really minor complaints, overall good job!

Developer

Well. I think there would be mixed opinions on the throw down mechanic. Some people wouldn't complain on it because they hold down the down arrow before pressing E, while you have some that press them at the same time. Hard to find a solution that everyone likes.

Fun idea, it was nice to play it!

Cute!

Cool game, it's an interesting concept and the mechanics are very fun. The audio isn't very good, but it fits the atmosphere.
Great job!

Cool concept !  Check mine too. :)

Very cool concept but not a big fan of the game audio. Good job, I had fun!

Developer(+1)

Yes. I absolutely agree about the audio. It is probably one of the hardest parts of making a game. Audio is a very underrated asset. Glad you had fun.

Hope you try out our game as well! :)

Developer

Will do once I come back home.

Nice take, got lost some times, but i guess that is on me hahaha

Developer

Nah. I think it may be a little hard to see in this game. When I made it, it was easier for me because I made the layout. Thanks for the feedback.

Submitted

Hey, that's cute !

It was challenging just the right amount :-)

Developer

I've been making hard games and I am trying to make games that aren't that hard as my other games. Glad you find the difficulty balanced.

Submitted

Yep, Indie game tend to be pretty hard. The trick I use is this : if you find your game easy, make it easier, because you've grown accustomed to it x)

Managing the puzzles and memorising level layouts in the dark was a fun challenge! Great concept, well executed, and fits the theme great!

Developer

I thought a game about being in the dark was a concept that many people wouldn't do, and here I am playing the game jam games where like half of them are dark/scary games. Thanks for the feedback.

Good game, some very smart ideas in the puzzle, cool take on the theme. keep it up!

Developer

Will do. Thank you.

Submitted

wow I love the idea of the teddy bear!

Developer

Thank you.

The level designs were clever, with later levels being more difficult whilst still being reasonable. I think the rate that new gameplay elements were introduced was perfect. It is a good idea that certain key objects were illuminated, as it encouraged me to move towards that area.

I like that the teddy bear was a critical tool and could also become a self-inflicted time limit in some levels.

The throwing mechanic felt a little underused. However, based on where the hint about resetting appears, this mechanic might have been difficult to design around.

The 2D sprite graphics and menus looked great. The music felt correct for the setting.

A short, yet enjoyable game.

Developer

About the throwing mechanic. I wanted to use it so you could throw it where it is dark so you would know where to jump. I didn't do this because the player would be resetting all of the time. Thanks for the other feedback too.

I loved playing this game! It was pretty fun and I would recommend it to my friends. I’m not really good at the game though, lol. Do you mind rating mine when you get a chance?

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the game.

Submitted

Nice idea. I would suggest improving the character animation and having the option to drop what you're carrying (I spent too much time throwing objects).

Developer

In the second level it tells you that you can hold down to throw it down, which is the equivalent of dropping it. Thanks for the feedback anyways.

The game is moody and the lights are doing great job, I enjoyed it, but sometimes it was too dark that I literally couldn't see anything so I died. I like the simplicity of the audio - not too much. And the interpretation of the theme is great!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed.

Think this is a really cool game. Especially like some of the graphical polish, notably the different light sources illuminating the player. Thought it was quite pretty.

Definitely fits the theme really well. Nice job!

Developer

Glad that you enjoyed it. Haven't had much time making it because I started school the week the game jam started.
