How does your game fit the theme?
When you die you respawn on a leaf from your stem, meaning every sprout is a potential second chance
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Most of the code was from scratch, but some parts like the leaderboard were re-used, while most of the assets were premade

I really love the atmossphere on this game and that you had time to do an online leaderboard! Well done! Though the controls on keyboard were a bit hard, maybe change that up a bit. And also some custom UI sprites, would've been nice. But this game is in my opinion one of the most impressive so far, good job!
(Also it would be pretty cool if you could check out my game too ^^)
^ With UI sprites meaning mostly the button ones
This is actually so fun, I could play this for hour and this is just some kind of better version of what I made for the jam, could you please take a look to it. The art is amazing, the pacing is amazing, the music is really cool and there even a leaderboard. Really well made and if there was one thing to say I would say to change a little bit the turning sensitivity because it can get really hard because of it sometime
Game clearly on another level. I already heard recommendations before playing it myself and I can understand why. SUPER addictive, actually well made, like not for a jam, just well made. Like others said, I could see myself playing this on my cellphone, I hate/love the presence of a leaderboard, I want to get there SO hard but I'm just not that skilled.
GREAT work!
Well this game awakened something in me. Any time I see a leaderboard you'd best believe I'm gonna get on there one way or another lol. This game was simultaneously satisfying and infuriating. I loved the feeling after weaving through a dense area, but those little bug things are my new nightmare fuel. I understand and kind of like how when you die you respawn on a random bud, but It at times feels a bit unfair to be sent 50/100m back down after working so hard to get to that point, so I'd maybe suggest only respawing on a random point of the most recent 10/15 buds or so to make it a bit more encouraging to the player after a crash. I will probably come back to this later today because I barely broke the top 10. Thank you for such a fun entry!
Edit: I just broke into the top 5 so I am plenty happy with that lol
Thanks for playing even multiple times :D
In hindsight I do agree the respawn is too punishing, but I made it to go back to 50% when the level and enemies were still way easier so it made more sense at that time...
One of the most well made & polished games I've played in this jam, I think you utilized the assets and your time really well and it could easily be ported as a mobile game and I would instantly download it! :) Well done!

3rd place is good enough for now x)
Thanks and congrats! Mobile might be tricky with the input, but we'll see
