How does your game fit the theme?
Miles From Home is the story of a man facing a crossroads. A cycle in his life having ended, he's forced to make a decision on what new beginning that ending breeds.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No, we used several third party assets.

I wish there are more games like this, it was so chill and so relaxing to listen to the narrative, and just admire the road and the night sky and the building's lights. Thank you for making this, such a nice short journey ^^
Nice narrative.
A neat little narrative adventure! Very nice!
This was awesome! I really loved the story this was really fun brilliant job!
Absolutely amazing sumission. An immersive experience with an emotional story, and beutifully voice acted. With more time this could be a really good narrative-style game
SO COOL GAME BROOO !!!
Wow I really liked this game! It reminds me of this strange game I found a a couple of years ago called Glitchhikers where you drive on an infinite road and talk to strangers you pick up on the way. But yeah I really enjoyed how the player got to choose to branch off the story depending on what junctions they took. A really simple mechanic that is incredibly effective at making the player feel like their actions have consequences. Really nice work!
I think you can find Glitchhikers on Itch. You should check it out if you want some inspo if you choose to keep developing this.
Very nice recommendation!!! I love it, thanks!!
The atmosphere and vibe of this game was fantastic! It felt very melancholic and serene as we drove this car down this seemingly empty road. Great job :)
This game is really COOL!!! I really love the narrative and game concept! also voice makes me relaxed. I played this two times to see all endings haha.
Who need Hollywood dreams? I did.
Cool relaxing game
on a gloomy evening.
This was an interesting experience to play through and i found myself very much immersed, a compelling narrative really sold the characters thoughts and allowed you to relate to there internal dialogue. Making changes in life can be scary and feel like a massive decision and this game does well to illustrate that, you feel the tension as you pass the signs 10miles.... 5 miles.... that impending ball of emotions doubting your decisions, questioning yourself till you have to commit to a choice. Atmospherically this game does exceptionally well and I see a lot of potential here, I could only hope for more polished driving controls more content or characters even to interact with.
Overall a successful immersive experience with a nice take on the Jam Theme, good stuff!
Really well done. Controls for the car felt a bit floaty and I had a hard to keeping it straight, but this was really awesome. Great job!
That was super well put together. Loved it!
Great game, gives off such a unique experience compared to a lot of other games.
Crashed the car a few times, control is a bit difficult.
I liked the different endings.
I can see firewatch-level full story like this... In some RV with more people where they talk to each other, but at night the drivers switch, something happens etc... l love voice acting and this was awesome!
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
This was less a game and more an interactive story, you do make 1 decision and this results in a different epilogue but the experience is primarily that of just sitting and meditating on the character’s monologue and the mood and feeling of driving down a highway at night alone.
You can tell it’s a fantasy because it’s set in LA, but there’s no traffic =)
Seriously though, this game is a prime example of “aim low and hit”. You can’t do much in it, but that means that everything you can do is satisfying and works (with one exception, more on that later). The dialogue is fully voiced, items in the car have clear, useful highlights, and the audio is clear and consistent.
The highway features some oncoming cars and a good semblance of the feeling of driving under American overhead freeway lighting. It does not feature vehicles traveling in your direction, and so there is no reason to control the car prior to the highway exit you can choose to take.
In fact, if you do control the car, you will probably regret it. Personally I did, as it’s a distraction from the good parts of the game (the monologue and scenery) and putting it back on autopilot proved a challenge. If this entry lives beyond the jam, I’d consider either taking driving controls away or adding a reason to use them, either/or.
Your enjoyment of this one will come down to how much you relate to the story being told and the mood; I felt it was a really impressively polished effort for a weeklong jam!
Next level review. THANKS!!!!! The car moving control was a hard decision to make, specially after coding autopilot and just knowing it's not only useless but an annoyance to even touch de arrows. In the end I opted for an autopilot key, which worked dependently from the player NOT pressing forward (which you usually constantly press when not in autopilot...)
What a stunning game with a unique and compelling approach to storytelling, great job!
Am quite surprised to find a fully voice story in a 1 week game jam, thats crazy consider amount of work needed. The night road is quite serene and peaceful, and is quite fitting with the overall story too. A rather unusual work in a game jam, but i think its quite surprisingly enjoyable.
Really nice game, especially for just a week!
Wow, really cool visuals, I really like the vibes and the concept is really cool!
