I really liked this game!! Once i understood how to work the game it wasn't too hard or anything, and it was very fun running around managing my confidence. i like the music and the art alot too!
I really dig the concept and idea but it took me a while to understand how to gain confidence, I didn't notice the mirror at first! Once I understood it was pretty fun and satisfying to be assertive towards these crazy customers! Nice to see our character get visually increasingly confident too! The music is catchy as well! Thank you!
This game is really interesting, on how you used the theme, I like the idea and mechanics. I found it a little too hard, it may need some adjustments on the ammount of people flexing and swinging. It's a little too fast phased, maybe coding a wave system, so the difficulty scales, but starts slow. I felt as anxious as the main character, so we the players can relate I gues haha. Oh, and the art is great -would hear to Ozymiandias feedback in regards of character design- but overall, the game is fun, funny, and stressful... stressfun
Good game. Got really enjoyable once I got the hang of it. I say this in good faith; I wish there was more racial diversity among the bodybuilders. It may not have been your intention, but I think it reinforces some negative stereotypes. Particularly when you look at the main character.
Soft Assistant in a Sharp Accessories Shop is an uplifting take on the jam's theme of softness. I found the premise funny and enjoyed the game's main mechanic in managing your self-confidence. From my third time playing (without revealing too much), I liked how the game effectively delivers the idea the on how confidence doesn't just come from the mirror. I also enjoyed the guitar soundtrack too as it conveys the sense of relaxation associated with real confidence. Overall, I enjoyed the game for its relatable premise and unique approach to the theme.
I think more ways to charge confidence around the room would be good as having a lot of customers gets overwhelming fast and there is a cooldown for the mirror. I think with some tweaking how it goes it can be a really cool and engaging gameplay loop!
I agree with Kilian in that you feel stuck when interacting. Maybe you could decrease the time it takes you to regain movement control for some actions or maybe add an object (maybe a speaker) that takes a lot of confidence but stops everyone that's swinging a weapon.
I loved the music, I was boping my head without noticing in my first playthrough!
Interesting game mechanic to play around with, however there often situation where the player cant recover enough confidence in time to handle everything (and they cant do anything about that except to accept their lost). Some simple adjustment can be made to fix the issue like making there be more NPC go to the counter so player can strategize to stockpile confidence or place more mirror or other interactable on other places of the map. But still very interesting and unique interpretation of the given theme and definitely relatable to quite some people, nice job!
I can see that you worked hard on this game, I'd say its okay but Im really annoyed that I got into impossible situation where I cant recover fast enough to take care of everything, this makes me think theres no ending of any sorts which could wrap up the story nicely, now its kind of disappointing it doesnt end in any meaningful way

Original and fun idea! Took me quite a while to get where to gain confidence, but once there it was very enjoyable. Good job!

I like the artwork, but I think the game needs to be more intuitive or present concepts sequentially. :-)
