This is a great game as made for both the jam and your coursework, so well done on coming through with a prototype. It has easy to understand controls, solid gameplay loop, and fulfills the expectations of a bullet hell game through the wild frenzy of tennis balls.
As per previous comments, I found it difficult to hit the tennis balls back. This is due to the controls and speed of which balls are released. I personally would find it easier if the control was to press and hold "E", and if balls were released at a slower speed. It can also help to have the camera be fixed to overlook the entire arena, so that a player can more easily dodge and weave.
I'd like to see you explore some more fun bullet patterns as well.
Great job. Good luck on your developments!
congrats on finishing the jam! great inversion of the bullet hell idea, that you have to hit bullets back! though technically it was very hard to hit the balls thrown at you... could be reworked into something cool!
Needs some sounds and maybe zoom out the camera.
But really fun idea to have a tennis shooter go haywire and you having to dodge the impending tennis balls of dooom.
Pretty fun
Honestly, as long as you can spor the location of the tennis ball shooter at all times that would be a big win already. It would probably be the easiest to just have a static camera that shows the whole court but you could also add a dynamic camera and incirese the size of the court and add some cool movement options and what do i know.
I'd like to point out some things (not that I'm that experienced at making games):
1. Audio - no matter how simple a game may be, having audio would be more player-engaging.
2. Might be better if the attack input is mouse left click.
3. Maybe tone down the randomness of the enemy attacks.
There's much to change but, hey, we all need to start at something. Good luck on your journey!
The controls aren't explained anywhere, the bullet patterns are hard to predict, it lasts for too long without changing.
