It's a really cool game, but hard :D. It took me 5 tries to finally get past the first wave. However, once you get comfortable with the controls, the game becomes super engaging. I really like it :)

Hello! 👋

Overall: ✨ I loved the tank controls mechanic where you can drive and shoot in separate directions. The game seems like it has potential, but I found it very difficult.

Fun: 🎉 The game was very challenging because all the enemies rush you, and even with slow motion, you are slowed down just as much as the enemies, which doesn't help much. I couldn't last more than 15 seconds despite multiple attempts.

Visual: 🎨 The visuals were decent for the project length we had.

Audio: 🎶 The audio was not bad and fit the game's atmosphere.

Theme: 📚 I didn't see the theme of "consequences" implemented, but that might be because I wasn't able to survive long enough in the game.

Other feedback: Something that could help is if, when you slow down time, only the enemies slow down. Since the slowdown mechanic already uses a refillable bar, this change could make the game more manageable without allowing players to use it constantly.

Overall, great job! I definitely see potential in this project! 👏

Nice work! Just some comments.

(1) I can only see the main menu's "start" button when I'm in full screen mode. It looks like your Unity Anchor Preset (Rect Transform) doesn't work well in my browser.

(2) This game is too difficult for me. I can't dodge bullets even in "slow" mode.

But I love bullets and tanks. It is a potential game.

Sadly I couldnt start the game. I am on firefox, and am unsure what additional technical information could be helpful to address this.
But after the unity startup logo, and the screen showing controls, nothing happens and no input is accepted.

i do not use firefox but i do not think that its the issue, if you didn't see a play button at the bottom it was most likely that as i didn't scale ui to different resolutions which was an oversight on my part, although it "should" work if you full screen it, i have already fixed this so once the jam is over ill update it :)

Ah, the fullscreen suggestion did the trick, thanks!
The game is solid, but it was quite hard to outrun many bullets

I like the gameplay

the game looks great if you don't think about the blurred ground

what are those red circles and they are annoying

Developer

thanks i couldn't make the sand look good as its surprisingly hard, and the red circles are the enemies aim to show that the enemy is in range to shoot thanks for playing :)

Cool topdown arena shooter, i like the vehicle designs and the sense of scale you conveyed when you see both tiny vehicles float about and then these massive fortresses :o

I feel this could be more fun with a few upgrades or different weapons to try out for variety’s sake, but other than that i still had fun trying it out.

Well done :)

Developer(+1)

thanks its my first time making top down vehicles and im glad you like them, also for the upgrades thats something i wanted to add but didnt get the time to do it as i had to fix the games performance and crashes but i do plan to add them after the jam :)

Submitted(+1)

Dang well even more impressive then if it’s your first time trying top down stuff :o

and no worries about the upgrades i’ve had a similar situation with my entry so i can’t blame you for not having the time i totally get it :p there’s always post jam for these kind of things.

At least you seemed to have squashed anything performance wise cause the game ran fine for me when i tried it :)

Nice job! The enemy reticles targeting the player are a genius way of conveying range / aggro. The tank controls also felt good, which is often tough to do.

Developer

thank you :)

Nice job, I quite like the design you did for the player tank.

I played the game a little bit and have a bit of feedback.

the music was good though the sound effects were a bit quiet

I feel like the game had too many bullets at the start and the movement controls were a bit weird.

maybe decreasing how many bullets the enemies fire or decreasing the damage they deal could make it better.

I would prefer if the controls were like normal wasd and not turning using a/d but that could just be me.

I also noticed that the game was zoomed in for me even when in full screen but that could just be my monitor.

Developer

Thanks for playing and feedback :)

im still getting used to adding sounds and balancing audio, and its not your monitor thats the issue its just my ui doesn't scale properly so everyone should have that problem, including me ;_;.
