Is this open to tabletop/TTRPG/analog games too? I'm an analog creator who would love to toss some work in to help out :D

Seconding this one here, would it be okay to submit Game Assets as well?

HostSubmitted(+2)

Sure, anything is welcome, and appreciated, I'm going to be putting in some 3D Assets and hopefully some other stuff i can dig out of my archives, and I'm hoping to have 1.0 of my Texture Channel Packer program ready in time as well, so it really is just going to be an assortment of different things.

Awesome stuff, mate. I will submit all of my assets, hope it helps. Let’s see if I can kickstart and upload a new pack before the bundle is out.

That being said, all the best for you and your mother. Life can suck a lot at times, but both of you will bounce back, hopefully unscathed.

Wishing the best for you and your family. đź’›

Thank you, I appreciate it, and sorry for the delayed response, been building 2 Dunkin Donut locations at work, plus think ive got more than a touch of bronchitis, so been a bit of a rough week. But i did get a chance to add one of my assetts to the bundle, a stone knife, more to come as i get the time. Anyway, thanks again.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I wish the best to you.

Take care of your family; best wishes for you all

The jam is ending soon. But I cross my fingers I am able to help you support your mother!

Submitted

By the way, what will happen after the end of the submissions? How will the entries get selected? PS, I do not join this jam for the money. I want to see you get the help you need!

HostSubmitted(+1)

Because Open Submission Bundles use the Game Jam system, after submissions I have to create an empty bundle and send the links for that bundle and the game jam to itch.io staff to transfer everything over and set everything up. After that everyone who submitted to the bundle will have to confirm one more time that they want their items included in the bundle., I believe itch.io sends out an email for this purpose. Once everyone approves the bundle, it will go live. Keep in mind I've never done this process before, so hopefully it goes well without any issues. I'm planning on including everything submitted, but I'll go through everything before I submit to itch.io just to make sure. I appreciate the help, I'm planning to market the living crap out of this bundle so hopefully everyone will get the exposure they deserve and maybe make some money in the end.

I personally didn’t join it for the money.

Heres the thing, my geo nodes setup, i only ask for money because i value my time, its not much to ask for but ive given away many addons / node setups that take a lot of time to buid for people. But ive never had the oportunity to give away an asset for a cause. I didnt do it for recognition either. I felt like it was the right thing to do. sometimes there is a need to help someone. If that is you this time around, then im happy it helps. hopefully you can sort your family out and have a better go at propper care of your family through some income. the reality is, not every thing is about money and fame. people like my self are far more interested to help when the truth is being told. and i felt like your cause was genuine. Hope it improves your families quality of life.

I hear you, and I appreciate the sentiment. I chose to do the split for a couple reasons, first there may be people who are interested in getting a split, which is fine, I hold the opinion that there's no wrong reason to do a good deed. Secondly, I was worried that setting up a bundle where I claim everything for my mom would come off as seeming like a scam, which I didn't want. Especially if it somehow becomes a roaring success and I raise more than I could need for the cause, which I don't even know what amount that might be since there's so much to do to the house and medical care is so expensive, but if by chance it does raise a ridiculous amount of money, I don't want to be seen as greedy or anything. I'm new to selling and making bundles here on itch.io, so there may be a way for people to forfeit their cut if they don't want it, I have no idea how to do that. But my solution is that if anyone want's their cut to go to the cause, I have a couple of assets on the marketplace that people can purchase at whatever amount they wish, and the proceeds of that will certainly go to helping the cause.

I think my biggest thing is that I've been amongst the gaming community for over 20 years, but because I'm so introverted and busy all the time, no-one really knows me. at the end of the day, I want to be able to call you all my friends. I want to be able to work with people and collaborate on projects, etc. So it's important to me to not tarnish my reputation before I have one.

With that said, I did receive disciplinary action for "spamming" people's comments. Which I did do, and I apologize to anyone who found it distasteful. Given the circumstances of my situation, I felt desperate to obtain as many submissions as possible, which led me to take actions that I normally wouldn't have taken. However, it did work and I received submissions that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. I will say that anyone who got an invitation to the bundle in their comments section, it was truly because I think your product is cool, my invitations weren't just randomly shotgunned out to everyone I saw.

Anyway, I'll end here, still plenty to do.

Thanks,

James Jeffries

you and i share the same thing in that we are introverted lol. I have been around a long time, even had articles written about my self in regards to cg software that i have been involved with, and i still am pretty well unknown, its mostly because i dont push it hard to get known, so i totally get you there.

im a simple dragon (for reference i dont claim to actually be a dragon, just something ive said for years for no particular reason at all.) i just love doing what i do. i am beginning to start a company of my own as well as working in a joint one. so im thinking about building a community of people that are like minded and enjoy this sort of thing.

But yeah i personally didn’t mind you left a message. here is how it went for me. “Ohh i got a message -> ok thats weird -> ill check it out first before i report it -> ok that seems reasonable -> ok they provided some evidence -> sure no worries -> oh crap, i got to make some changes to that asset as its got updates, let me do that first -> then i did the submission”

some people will always complain it doesn’t matter for what reason. and the thing is, even if you did do it (not saying you did) to get assets…..like, your one guy the loss of $3 is literally the last thing on my mind after reading whats been going on in your life. so i feel like i can justify a “ maybe loosing $3 “ incase your claim in actually legit. which i feel like it is.

not every one is like me. i think that is my upbringing. Im not religious but i do believe in kama. and it does come around at some point, so if i do some good even at the risk of loosing something, i know personally i did it for the right reasons.

I do understand you getting a flag/warning, but i think in extreme circumstances you are doing what you can and that is why i think we are all doing what we can to help you with over 200 submissions. People over all are good. there are exceptions to the rule (especially on reddit…).

i cant speak for every one in that they should forfeit the profit. but i certainly would rather it be paid back and reinvested in your mothers care, either medical or repairs to the home. so once it starts selling ill periodically check and if there is a balance i will “purchase something off your page with it to reinvest. I have no idea how these work ive never made one on itch io.

People who help other people = better people on both sides.

Hey guys, sorry to interrupt your discussion, but i wanted to ask, when or if there is already an approvement link availabe ? or maybe someone can tell me when i should approve it, it would be cool to know, so that im online then. best regards

HostSubmitted

no problem, theres no approval link yet. I had once person who wanted me to send them invitations and ive been waiting for them to add their products. I just woke up about 10 minutes ago to find they had been added so im going to try to get an approval link out today.

HostSubmitted(+1)

hi everyone, sorry for the delay getting the bundle going, had to travel to NC and have no internet at my moms house. I got the bundle set up and this should be the approval link https://itch.io/b/2741/unstoppable-bundle, keep in mind that you need to be logged in to get to the page.

Thanks,

James

Just approved my entry, and it looks like most of the other participants have now done so as well.

What happens if not everyone approves quickly? So far most already have but about a dozen haven't. I'm just wondering as I have never managed a co-op bundle and am unsure how that works.

Incidentally, my last incremental update was pushed via Butler and must have messed up a setting on my submission. Looks like the 'hide files from download' checkbox was switched on then on that pack at that time. I will note that this was an unintended change and I have since fixed the incorrect setting.

Everything in the 3d asset pack (Marshes and Meadows) should be downloadable again now. I have another small update headed there and some updates to my other asset packs, and I will need to make it a point from now on to check to make sure Butler doesn't do weird unexpected things to the file settings in the future.

Am really sorry for any confusion or problems this recent mistake caused.
