Fun slime dancing sim, lacking in theme, but mechanically polished and knows what it wants to be

This has a beginning of an amazing horror game. Serial killer in a nightclub style. As is, it's an ok prototype that should definitely be worked on after the jam. Would love to see this idea in all it's potential glory.

so it is a Horror game, but not a scary one, its kinda fun but very very short and the caracters are all blobs which you know not the best models in the world. i mean it works really well and it seams solid, really view things to say becouse of how short it is.

Writing is pretty good, but there’s a grammatical error in the opening screen. Aside from that, though, it’s easy to read. Good instructions - it was easy to tell what needed done. The concept of only knowing the enemy’s direction was really cool, too. The music and sound effects were good! It wasn’t really horror, but it was great.

The core concept is really solid, and I ways definitely a bit scared to look around :) And despite (or because of?) the minimal art style, the club atmosphere came across perfectly - so with the pandemic and lockdown and all that, thanks for the feeling ;D

I have deleted my comment in lieu of something more constructive:

The core gameplay loop is simple but works - collect items, get out of there. It's possible to cheese the monster by moving backwards and not looking at him at all. Maybe instead of static objects they could be moving, presenting a challenge - or an in-game timer could entice speedrunners to compete playing the game the fastest.

Even though you claim the art isn't there, I very much enjoyed the minimalism - to me, this is a slime club, and maybe you could lean into the theme. That could relate to horror a bit btter - a bunch of slimes were on a night out, one of them left their slime wallet (full of adventurer bones used for currency), but there is one dude out there that knows your scent and wants to grab you.

I liked the music, but the sound effect for looking at the monster blends into it too well. For my first few tries I was certain the sound cue was part of the soundtrack. Maybe make it a bit more distinct, like a static sound that makes the music more hushed.

As far as I understand this is your first game, so good job on that! Please keep making more :)

More or less :) I tried to make the atmosphere as scary as I could when the baddie is after you. The main problem is you can easily go a whole playthrough without him chasing you once which kinda defeats the purpose
