Hey check out Detective's illusion! I'll be streaming your game in a couple hours

https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/1420335

Starts out strong, but keeps going too long, the scares keep coming but lose potency with reuse

Does a pretty solid job, but needed a larger variety of templates for the game to pick from when generating files. Stuff gets a bit repetitive on loops, and can drag the fun down

Well implemented cooking game, holds together very solidly, and has a good catalogue of levels and recipes for a jam game!

Very strong in theme, but weaker on implementation. Fun starts out strong but wears down after repeated teleports

Does an excellent job of making use of the limited timeframe, and strives to be a quick but fun jaunt into horror

An excellent homebrew of doom and luigi's mansion, needs expanded spawn checking and aggro range, as well as a bit more enemy variety to hit the 5's

Having something to submit is the first step to success, don't beat yourself up over it and instead strive to learn from it!

This is also the only other game in the jam that implemented 360 degree pitch control other than mine.

Decently written, but has issue blending it's own mechanics with it's assets, and needed an editing pass.

Cool to learn that a group of raccoons is called a Gaze though!

Needs a bigger theme tie in, the twist at the end was fun, and I enjoyed playing it though!

Needs more theme integration, and stuff moves at awkward speeds. Needs playability checks done on spawning objects.

I gotta agree with Nibble, last move based hitbox is awkward to control. camera zooms in/out for different areas and makes judging the hitbox even harder. Character also needs more variety of abilities for a beat em up

Got super lost, needs the camera angle brought down by 10-30 degrees, can't see behind you without a light there anyway

Good base for a dungeon crawler, needs some readability on the first bosses summoning ability, but most stands strong. Wizard enemies are well animated and lighting is well handled

Breaks hard and fast, did manage to scare me with a teleporting bean

Karen would not let me into the house, she stood by the door and gave me a death glare. I tried to explain I was from the moving company, but she did not care.

Needs more subtlety, and less headbutts to really build the scares.

I do appreciate that what items you need for a stage are randomized though!

Really needed a 3D modeler on staff, and more events to help it build up more tension, start subtle and then build up!

Strong atmosphere and mechanics work together to bring this game together, I can definitely see it pushing into frustration more than enjoyment though.

Really needed more dev time and interactivity.

Solid writing and fun to read through on stream!

Good poem, fairly fun to play, I might have gotten really dizzy though.

(1 edit)

Game ends during the intro unfortunately, you can tell more was planned due to some characters being confined entirely to the background.
There's a few holes between walls, pointless corridors and grammatical errors.

But all of that is why Jams are a thing, review what lessons you've learned, reflect on how you can improve next time and use the experience you've gained to help you grow!

(also anything that can make my rig stutter is impressive)

Character needs a bit more freedom of movement and maybe an extra ability, knockbacks windup is just too long to be reliable, and lacks indication of it's range

Solid mechanical execution but was begging for a larger variety of enemies with it's power stealing ability. Animations were good, but a bit stiff

While not the scariest game in the jam, Rapture of the Deep is the best written. A lot of blood sweat and tears was clearly put into the script for it! I highly recommend playing it to anyone who hasn't!

An absolute gem of a game, and definitely worth expanding upon post-jam!

You guys seriously deserve praise for making this in a single week and will keep an eye out for future releases!

I unfortunately hit some kind of jam on the first map and wasn't able to go any further :/

Good writing, but needs an editing pass, first person segment needed more love. Don't be afraid to work with basic cubes and cylinders with colored materials to express stuff if models aren't working out.

A solid start to work from, and shows a good potential that needs polishing

Excellent game jam with multiple endings and a good intertwined puzzle, with a few mechanical issues

Fun slime dancing sim, lacking in theme, but mechanically polished and knows what it wants to be

Thematically very strong, but needs some polish to bring out the fun and allow the player to better understand stuff

Mechanically very solid and glitch free! I loved chucking myself in the volcano at the end haha

Wonderful modeling on the critters, the player needs a bit more feedback on what/why things happen though

Mechanically solid, and fun to play! Definitely enjoyed raging at the jumps! Needs a stronger theme tying though

Very confusing, but clearly working hard towards the theme
