Finished it ;) Just the fact that you can't move and turn around at the same took a while for me to understand, but thats no big deal. It's pretty funny when you'r fighting against bookshelfs. ;D
Maybe you could play and vote my game too ;)

In the first level I got the key, but couldn't get past the obstacle that required a key. Maybe it's because I interacted with the door above it first, but then there's an issue with the level. The art was nice, but perhaps you can add some sfx and music.
Hi Mika,
And thank you for trying out our game !
To use the key you have to go into your inventory (esc) and select the key. The next time you go to the locked door, press space bar to unlock the door. Sometimes you have to do that a couple of times to open the door. Maybe there is a bug that needs to be fixed there. But in any case, I managed to finish the game several times, just don't forget to select your keys in your inventory.
There are some SFX and music, but maybe the volume is a bit too low. I am the composer and sound designer for this game by the way.
Liked the graphics, though the UI could be improved.
Movement was kinda weird though. Overall, still a really fun game.
I hope you choose to update the movement in this game. It is a nice little game. I enjoyed playing and it has a bunch of potential. With an exploration game like this, it is very important to be able to direct the player fast and accurately.
I think the inventory could have been displayed directly in the HUD. Of coarse ,if you have plans on adding more items to the inventory, then it would make sense to has it as its own screen.
Adding some 8bit audio would be a nice touch and add to the whole exploration feel of the game.
I get a feeling that you had fun creating this and I sure hope you keep at it. It has a lot potential!
I'd love to get your feedback on my game.
The art looks nice and the music is pretty good as well! :D As everyone mentioned, the movement is not responsive enough. I got stuck in level 2 btw, for using the key in the wrong sequence, ended up with no key to go through. Am I missing out on something?
The graphics and the music is pretty good. The game is is simple and fun. The game could overall use a bit of polish. Overall an okay jam game.
As many people have said, the movement is indeed a little bit annoying when I played the game, but otherwise, I really like it
I really enjoyed playing this! As mig2003 said, the main problem was the movement, which was really slow. Other than that, I enjoyed that every level had a different surprise, but I ended up not killing the boss and walked straight to the exit!
Congrats on your game!
I feel like this game has potential.
I think the movement is a bit annoying, tho. Since you can only walk to a direction after you've faced towards it, moving around is really slow, which is a bit frustrating, since you have to go back and fort a lot in this game. There is also some problems with the menu. Selecting items with the mouse often doesn't work, and sometimes the arrows dont take you to the item that's next to the current one, but skip to the item that's 2 or 3 squares away. Also, after I died, a lot of sprites changed, which was weird. These are my main complaints, tho.
I really really like the climax. The art is great, and so is the music, both passing some RPG vibes that I really enjoy. The gameplay is pretty straight forward, with an easy-to-use menu and intuitive fighting, which is a strength. It's also smart that you make small changes to each level's aesthetics, in this case changing their color, which kinda avoids the "this is always the same" feeling. The game is clearly puzzle-based, but adding combat was really cool, it adds some variety and life to the experience.
Honestly, the aspect that made me not get to the end of it was the movement, for it really reduces the pace of the game, imo. Other than that, it's a simple but fairly entertaining game. Nice job!
Hi mig2003
Thank you for this very thorough comment, we appreciate it :)
Yes, as you may have seen, many other players have experienced the same trouble with movements. We will be working on fixing that ASAP.
We will also have a look at the other issues that you mentioned. We are happy you like the game otherwise and we thank you for your compliments and for your support.
We will try to update the game soon !
