Nice game !

The narrator is really fun to listen to ! He made me laugh a couple times ! I like how each room has its solution and each failure room is unique !

The next step would maybe to add a bit more of interactions (some things to clic while the narrator is speaking for exemple) because the game is a bit too "static".

But otherwise you did a great job !

Well done :)

This was a good game, really adhered to the theme! The voice-over was a nice way of interacting with the player, and gave me really strong Stanley Parable vibe, and it did get a couple of laughs from me! Overall a good game that adheres to the theme really well.

I like how the person that was talking.

Cool! For me game need some animating improvement! GREAT JOB anyway!

I'm not sure why the game is called "Rail's Basement", but it was pretty funny. Especially how the game ends with three red doors XD.

Developer

Rail is the name of man speaking to you, and then is the name spelt backwards...? The game do by the way not end with the red three doors.

Submitted

Ah I see, "liar" backwards. I tried most of the doors and all three doors at the end, so I wouldn't know how to progress if that wasn't the end.

Developer

SPOILER! The answer is patience.

Hilarious experience. Simple and short, but the voice acting really made the whole thing really enjoyable. Nice work!

Submitted(+1)

That was very funny :D The narrator is pretty slimy :D I had a great time playing it. Good job!

Interesting concept! The narration is top-notch, made me truly uneasy at times :)

If you decide to work on the game some more, I'd suggest making it more dynamic visually: e.g. rooms with different designs, hover states for the doors, maybe an animal running through the screen while you listen to the narrator, etc.

Nice game! Simple design and quite funny voice :D
The levels could load quicker so the player could interact though ;)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game, and I am happy you liked it. The levels do actually  loads pretty quickly, I have just choosed to have a slow transition between the levels. I know today is slow = bad, but I like slow and therefor it is slow.

Cool idea, and great voice acting, a bit slow for me, I would like to be able to click right away especially when I came in the room before in order to push all the doors

Rated - great voice acting.  I just watched IT2 (the horror clown movie), there was a funny/scary which door do i choose gag.  Good job working in 3D too.  Please check out my game if you can~ good day!

Not much of a game but it's nice to see the Unreal Engine in action. Good voice acting and bug free. What more can you hope for?

Submitted(+1)

Wow. Never thought a game with only doors would be this much fun. This is a fun game. The voice acting is excellent. The starting music on every stage went really well with the environment. Really liked the artwork and humour was on point. Overall a well made game. Also just noticed that Rail is Liar spelt backward, so it is Liar's Basement :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game. I am happy you liked it. I actually believe you are the first to notes that Rail is Liar spelt backwards.

Funny and interesting. It fits the theme perfectly!

"You die of disappointment." Aw man. I wouldn't want to go like that in real life.

Very cool entry! Dialogue felt a bit slow (especially when trying to go through every single door to see every game overs) but you could go through without finishing listening, which is good.

Actually, this reminds me of my entry! It has 7 different endings and another hilarious narrator! You also go through doors! If you've got some spare time, come check it out and rate it! It's worth it!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing. I agree that the dialog can be a bit slow, but like you said you can skip it and then it is more or less up to you, if you do not want hear it all.

You have a funny british humor! Well done and does this game have a "win"? I tried lots of options...

Developer(+1)

!SPOILERS the game has and end, but you do not win.

Oh I really hope more people see this and rate it! Simple to play but rather well made, and 100% in the spirit of the jam! And of course the voice was hilariously entertaining! Great job, great submission!
