This is amazing! I can't believe this is a jam game considering the amount of polish. The artwork is really amazing, everything moves when you touch it and the music and writing are great. At one point I'm not sure how I died but still, this is amazing. I had no idea that 2D artwork could work this well in a 3D environment.
One minor complaint I have is on the character controller: it feels a bit stiff because there's a short delay from when you push a button and when it starts moving, and a slightly longer delay when it should stop. Also while the side animation puts his feet quite in sync with the ground, the front and back look a bit like he's skating.
Anyway, great game guys, congratulations!
Thank you SO much! Glad you liked it. You're totally right about the controls :S We figure that out too late thanks to people's feedback.
This is actually all 2D, the 3D effect was made possible by rotating some stuff and use some billboard effect. It was a pain in the ass for the colliders and lights2D which we had to remove, but apart from that it was actually fun to play with this configs.
Really? If you don't mind, could you elaborate a bit on how you obtained that 3D effect? I'm really curious.. Did you move and scale stuff according to the player position or something like that?
Yay!
I didn't handle that directly but basically rotate the ground and objects that lay on the ground by 45 degrees. For the object standing on the ground, you don't need any rotation. Pivots for standing objects should be at their bottom. Standing moving objects should move relative to the ground rotation. This way you got that depth effect by moving the camera upward and backward on the ground. The moving objects will need some sort of dynamic adaptation for the order in layer to always appear in the right order.
wonderful game - the music and sound effects are amazing - the art is unique - truly doesn't feel like a game jam game !
Thank you so much! <3
This is the first game I rated (out of 30) where I can see that you put more effort into the game than I did. It is artistically satisfying and stands out against all the top-down shooter and platformer. Great teamwork guys!
Thank you so much! :)
Good job, good Fun
This felt like a real full game it was great! I loved the art and the storyline too! I got stuck on the bit with the stones that had a gap for a sword and stuff and I couldn't figure out where to go from there but I really enjoyed it!
I find a bit frustrating that there are a lot of different paths you can go on. For me game would be great if it was more linear and focused on the story but overall game looks, plays and sounds absolutely gorgeous!
Yeah, we all agree with it. We didn't have a single full playtest before the game was uploaded so we realize that too late eheh :D Thanks for your feeds, really appreciate that :)
Nice graphics! You should add persistence on the game, this way, the user could not start from the beginning! Rated 4 stars in almost everything, good job!
Recommendations:
Add velocity on the animations of the character. (it would look better :))
Some trees are in the wrong sorting layer.
The controls could be a bit improve but they aren't as bad as the people say in the comments.
Loved the frog design!!! My congratulations to the art designers!
Thank you so much for the feedback! :)
Got taken by the forest. I'm one with nature now. Peace & love
Really cool game. Love the graphics. If you ask me for suggestions I would love to have some way to leave the light on while I do certain puzzles but I really liked your game overall. Great job.
Yes, it could be a good idea, would be more comfortable, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
L'arte è molto bella ... Disegni molto belli .. L'ho adorato
Grazie mille, gentilissimo!
:)
Great art! Love the hand-drawn style!

Thank you so much! :)
Really interesting and beautiful game. Sadly the controls ruined the experience for me a little bit, especially in the part with a lot of invisible pushable platforms. I also really like the design of the title-logo thingy. Overall, one of the better entries out here.
Thanks! Yeah, we should have put more attention to the controls :S We uploaded it last minute and we figured that out only when we read the first feedbacks
Next time we'll be more careful, these feeds are really helpful, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I mean, we also found a little bug right after the deadline, so i feel you :)
Love the artstyle! UI design is really cute! Rated 4 Star!
Thanks! Glad you appreciated it :)
As others have mentioned, the graphics are amazing. I love the angle of the camera! I'm really impressed with the amount of content too for such a small time! I had a little trouble with the pressure plates when you had to do them in certain orders, but overall it controlled fairly well. You should be very proud of yourselves :)
Thank you so much for the review!
Graphics And Game Are amazing But You Could Improve The Controls
Thanks for the review!
Yeah keyboard controls could be improved, expecially for plate puzzles!
Try it with a joypad if you can!
The graphics are so amazing! Guessing it was inspired by Don't Starve? I couldn't get too far because I got stuck on the puzzles. The controls could be improved on, it doesn't register short button presses so you have to press a longer time to walk a short distance, which made it a little bit difficult to get past the first puzzle with the footprints
Thanks for your comment and feedback! You're right :)
Molto bello e intrattenitivo, complimenti sopratutto per l'art e la cura dei dettagli!
I loved this game. It was amazing, I might even say this is a must play for everyone i the game jam. The only thing that would've made it better would be a pause menu with a screen to check controls mid game.
Thank you! Your are so kind <3
