How does your concept engage in the jam's themes?
Our game will be focusing deforestation and the issues that industrial lumber yard cause.

Use of Theme / Inspiration
The themes we will be discussing in our game will be self discovery and self discovery because our protagonist loses his home due to deforestation, and he has duties that he must adhere to since he is the guardian of nature. We find that the theme of self discovery is very essential to our topic, being newly formed game devs discovering our skills and responsibilities it's something that's very important to us. We are incorporating the themes through our dialogue between the characters. Were heavily inspired by Japanese Mythology since our characters will all be based on them.

I’m very impressed by the level of detail in your plan. The art looks great, and it’s good to see you already have characters planned out. That being said I think this is quite an ambitious project. In particular, the Metroidvania aspect tends to result in quite large and complex levels that may be a stretch for this time frame.

The setting seems like it could lend itself to some creative level designs. I'd like to know if there would be any form of combat within the game or if it would purely be focused on stealth and conversation. Having conversation be the main way to recruit the npcs is also interesting.

Overall, I really enjoy your idea! Your art and visuals encapsulate the theme and vibe of the story very efficiently. Playing as a fox spirit and fighting against the boss of a corporation responsible for destroying your home is a very interesting approach to showing the effects of deforestation from an animal's perspective.  Something I would provide feedback is on the scope since it might be a big large, but it is important to have more ideas in the beginning of ideation to identify what should be kept vs. what should be removed. I am also curious about how the game's soundtrack will sound. Good work!

Your games sounds fun and the idea of a playing as a fox spirit is really interesting. I love the concept art and visuals you provided and you do a great job explaining the idea behind your game. My only concern is that the scope might a bit large, but you seem to have a plan on how to approach development, so this isn't really that big of a concern. Overall, I really like your game concept and did a great job explaining your idea. I look forward to playing your game and learning more about Rue.
