the ball of terror should be slower, or the player faster, either option works, but the important thing is that the player can gain more distance from the ball, and that there are more obstacles that are difficult to avoid and delay the player so that the ball can reach the player. Still, it's a great game, a lot of fun.
I really liked the level design, there was something cool about the float tiles. It was fun to rock hop and get some height but that black orb kept a' comin'!
Like the aesthetics but I think the character should move a little bit faster. It was really hard to keep a distance from the black ball. Good job.
Awe man, I was hoping I could get the black thing to smash into the giant gray things to slow it down enough for me to regain some distance between. Not sure how slow the speed increase is per blue orb but I didn't feel it
Well, i thought about black orb hitting into obstacles. But it got stuck sometimes or it looked glitchy. So i reverted it and went on the graphics. Ty for comment
I am a proud member of the score of 2 Club. It seemed really hard to put any kind of distance between you and the black ball of terror. I feel like I would of enjoyed it more if the character moved slightly faster.
Lousy TERROR orb... always taking away my good time :P
I played a few times and couldn't beat my high score of... 1 (ha!) Kudos to the folks in the comments that got 2! Joking aside, I enjoyed the concept of your game. Navigating around obstacles was fun if not a bit slow. The orb certainly kept me feeling the pressure and it might have been a bit nicer if it moved a bit slower (or I moved a bit faster) because I found it rather difficult to keep my distance from it. I also would have loved some audio. But, hey, we're coding under the gun here. We can't get everything implemented. Well done!
Well i at testing have done around 9 so i tought it was ok. But what i could have done as i think from the feedback: orb moves slower but you get more punished if you bump into obstacles. That is mine food for thought in next games. Ty for comment
Nice entry! Using WASD/arrows on a diagonal perspective felt a little awkward to control, but once I got used to it, the controls felt great and responsive. Definitely a high priority for a game like this.
I only got a high score of 2. I think speeding up the game a bit might help replayability. Starting over felt a tad tedious just because it takes so long to navigate. Making everything a bit faster and adding pickups (or just coins) in more places would make the moment to moment gameplay feel more engaging, too.
Overall, cool lil game and I enjoyed my time with it. Congrats on making this in just a few days! Keep it up! :)
Many thanks for your comment. I used that side view because I have never done a truly 3d game till now so I figured this game jam would be a perfect opportunity. And since i was so tight with time I can agree with most of your points :)
Love it! Its the dark souls of Indiana Jones simulators
This is a cool little concept, personally I feel like the black ball chasing the character is a little too unforgiving but I may be doing something wrong, my high score is two 😂
What a challenge!!!
