Super cute character and eye! The respawn mechanic was really cool and it was fun just running and jumping around in the world. Great pacing and level design too, had a nice way of introducing me to the mechanics as the game went along.

The eyes when he picks up the box. I snorted. Loved it.

Love the idea to change things and comeback to the flags to solve the puzzles. But the best thing is the eyes of the character when lifting the boxes lol I couldn’t stop laughing

Haha! The art is awesome, done by shanszocannon https://twitter.com/shanzsocannon?t=AT08ODOLqCax1a7Zoe3Iog&s=09

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed.

this is super neat, really fun concept to have the levels change and then re run through them

Developer

Hey! Thanks for playing the game glad you liked it!

Whoops...I don't think the block should go into the wall...Then again, now the eyes cannot see where I have hidden it!

Developer (1 edit)

Well.... That's not supposed to happen 😅

Thinking about this without looking at the actual project i suspect this might be because i forgot to make the tile that make up the floor into one big collider so each tile has a small crack where you can slip object between

The interesting thing is that it only happened when I was holding the box. If I pushed it then the wall stopped me but soon as I picked it up then it's like the collides disappeared  :) Still, I like the main avatar's expression, the clever pun in the name, and the constant feeling of being watched  :)

I like the concept it, definitely a more advanced mechanic then I would be able to pull off in a game jam scenario.

Developer

thanks for playing! I had plans to have the Knight their the flag where you mouse was pointing at first but thought I'd have to have a couple levels introducing the concept etc. By the time i got things together there wasn't anytime to do the original concept 😂

Gotta say, I chuckled when I picked up the box for the first time and saw those bulging eyes! Your animations gave the game that little extra pizzazz. I also appreciated the tutorial as you played. An integrated tutorial makes a game 100% more awesome, in my opinion.

I did encounter an issue with the game. On level 3, I decided to pick up the box and then proceeded to fall off the left side of the gameboard. No worries! I'll just hit E to respawn at the checkpoint ! The respawn worked, but with one little issue. The box didn't respawn. So, now I'm a poor knight without a box :(

That bug aside, nice work!

Developer

haha, i think the art of the knight makes this game that much better and for that i have to shout out shanszocannon. She made a little backstory and named the Knight (which all had to be cut for time) but did done great artwork.

Another person noted that you can actually slip the box into the walls also something is definitely not right with the collider. Sorry you couldn't complete the third level... There is a reason the box didn't respawn in position, the "puzzle" is that when you press e the box is supposed to move with you to the flag so you can get over the next obstacle 😅

That main character is really well done, loved the puzzles, just wish it was a bit longer, well done.

Developer

hey! Thanks for playing the game, i too wish i could've added a few more levels (and maybe at some point i will) but time and other commitments got the better of me, keep track though because i have some ideas for this game 😄

A+ for puns. I loved the guys little jittery legs and the eye bulge when lifting things. Small animations can make a big difference.

Fun little game. Short and sweet and right to the point. That's perfect for a jam game. Make a plan, do it, and do it well. Well done!

My biggest feedback would just be on level clarity. The stage and the background are the same color. With so many horizontal lines in the background, I thought a lot of them were platforms. Making those a different color, or even just darkening them, would go a long way towards visual clarity.

**SPOILERS***

Didn't want to spoil other players if they see this comment before playing

You can solve the 3rd level by just jumping over everything and ignoring the blocks/buttons. Unsure if that was intentional or not.

Congrats on finishing this jam and keep up the good work!

thank you for the really nice feedback ♥️

I'll take that feedback, that's a thing i did to make the levels less black but admittedly it can lead to confusion.

I didn't know about the truck in the third level, that's something to look at 😅
